Good to know. Thanks.

Excellent tip, Jacqui. Will need to get me some!

I buy my spray adhesive in either Lowes or Home depot, it runs about $5 a can vs $15 - 20 at the LQS or Joanns. Works the same and I have never had a problem yet. ALso the can is a larger can then the LQS.

I stopped at the Lowe's nearest to me (West St. Paul, MN) and the smallest CANVAS drop cloth available was 4 x 15 feet. It was also very coarse - it might have worked for patio drapes, but I would not have used it for an ironing board cover.

The only things I saw in the $6.00 price range were non-woven things.

Thanks for that idea! I was going to use a JoAnn's coupon to get canvas to make a cover for our dog's bed. She digs and makes a nest for herself, ripping through the pillow covers. I want to put a double-canvas layer over her new bed and see if it lasts longer. This would be a much cheaper way to get that fabric.

A friend took door off an unused closet (in sewing room) & made a covering from canvas. She painted a swirly design on hers & also made a ruffle for the top...using canvas. Her DD loved it, so she made her a shower curtain of canvas.Like she said, the price was right.

LOL!! I'm like you Karenpatrick.... no way!!! You'll find the canvas in the paint dept - I use the canvas to make outdoor patio curtains.

Awesome idea!
I had gone to Lowes to look at their work platform. I was bummed to see it was only 18" tall when opened. I was going to use it for my ironing board base. I'll be using a set of garage shelves instead - just only set them up to 36" than fit my big ironing board top to go on top of it. Ironing station + shelves underneath for storage :) Gotta love Lowes :)

You can also paint designs on that canvas, hem, coat with polyurethane, and have a great floor covering (I saw Frank do them on "Trading Spaces years ago)!

quilting supplies from Home DePot

OMG Went to Home DePot today and my DH bought me a rolling cart for my sewing machine so I don't have to carry it when I go to my sewing retreats. Also bought a board to use as a ironing board for my retreats...Luv the men's stores.

Thanks for the info. I need to recover my ironing surface. It is 24" x 60". This will be much less expensive and a
much heavier cover.
