I'm new hear but always read the board ever day it's great. I had that same situation with my husband in the hospital and I'm not a TV person. I brought a cross stitch with me I had been working on for about a year mable longer about a third of it done lol of Isaiah 40:31. I was so happy when he got to come home.He is fine and the cross stitch got finished it was beautiful.

Glad to hear your husband is doing better. This would be a good red work time.At least for me.

I know how helpful it is to get through a stressful situation by quilting, and I expect you will have lots of time to quilt while he recuperates, at least in between helping him. Probably too late to come up with a hand project, so keep the computer handy and chat with us in the meantime. Prayers that his body accepts the transplant with no problems and you be granted lots of patience during his recovery.

Glad Hubby is doing well. How about a trip to Joann's for a hand project. You could make a table runner or a small hanging and do it all by hand. Make it bright and cheery.

I have my husband home from A bacterial infection that invaded a lot of his organs. It destroyed his heart valve. He spent 5 weeks in 2 hospitals. 2 valve surgeries. He is doing much better. I am thrilled God let us have him back.
Save your strength for when he comes home. It is a long road. The transition is not easy on them and on you. Maybe you could look into a program at the hospital donating quilts or blankets or pillow cases. Maybe you could set up a program for these patients. They need all the support you can give. God watch over both of you.

Hope all goes well...handwork is brilliant for passing the time and I find it a real stress reliever. Nothing more therapeutic than stitching hex's together. Blessings to you both.

I recently spent a week in a hotel room while my DH had surgery. I did take several books, some hand sewing, my laptop, some office work, and my christmas thank you notes to write. I got all of it done. There is only so much time you can sit in his room and look at him. The rest of the time if I had not had work to do, I would have emptied the vending machines.
Good luck and prayers for both of you. It will be over soon.

How about making yo-yos or doing some redwork embroidery! Something small might be better than nothing. Hang in there. That's a long time in a hospital sitting.

Glad to hear your husband is doing well. If I were anywhere near you, I would be glad to bring you my Featherweight to play on while you are in that hotel room, even some fabric and thread and pins..oh, guess scissors would be a helpful tool also. I would probably read myself blind if I had to be in a hotel away from home for any time at all.
