I do. We have a local chapter so I don't have to pay postage & quilt stays closer to home. I buy alot of fabric at garage sales so use my own fabric & provide some for my friends who are short of $$.

First time I have heard of this group. I have been making donation quilts for many years and my quilts have been distributed world wide. I wish, but there is not a Quilts for Kids chapter near me. Have been trying to get a quilting group going at the Senior Center in Columbia, Md. but thus far have not had any luck. Maybe because there are many guilds in this area.

The national headquarters is in Fairless Hills, PA, and their phone is 215-295-5484. I just spoke with them and was told that they send their quilt kits all over the country. If they don't have a chapter in your state, they will send the kits directly to you and you would ship the finished quilts (and any of your own you would like to make) directly to them in PA.

No matter where they get the quilts from, they are distributed all over the country to hospitals, shelters, etc., so there is no guarantee that your quilts will be distributed to your state, but they will be appreciated and loved no matter where they go. Last year Quilts for Kids distributed 25,000 quilts and they are trying to beat that this year.

Please feel free to contact them. They will send you a quilt kit to make a simple 4-patch quilt. You supply the batting (and the binding if you use it) and the return packaging and postage. That's all there is to it.

They would appreciate your sending them a quilt of your own in addition to one made from their kit so they can wrap 2 children in quilted warmth instead of one, but it is not required. They are appreciative for whatever they get.
