I've done 3. Their latest newsletter says that they especially need quilts for teens. I'm working on one with electric guitar fabric and plan another with a jungle print. Keeping them simple so that I can get them mailed.

I made one QFK kit. It was fun to do and I will get another one later, but our daughter's getting married in June, so there's a lot to do around here right now.

I just sent four off yesterday, and six for Japan...I think I'm about charity quilted out for the next couple of weeks...but, I DO enjoy doing it! So as long as they need them (and I can do it), I'll help. The board members here are doing a great job!!!

I volunteer a lot, so I run short on time, but I have six quilts going now. I am trying to do more machine quilting, but it is still easier for me to do hand quilting.
You are doing a great job and thank you for sharing. What address did you use for the quilts to Japan? Nigeria |

As far as the cost of shipping is concerned, I agree that it can be expensive, but I just consider it part of the donation. All their fabric is donated to them by the manufacturers, and all the help is volunteer. I don't have a chapter nearby to help out, so I am happy to send them to wherever they are needed. There are so many worthy organizations out there, we just have to choose what works for us.
