I feel your pain!

The only time I have ever cut myself with my rotary cutter was in a quilting class right after the lecture on rotary cutter safety! I was more concerned about not getting blood on my quilt blocks!

Lady Diana - please call your doctor's office and tell them that the knife went through raw chicken then into your arm! Remember all the lectures on washing everything touching raw meat? You might get a very serious infection.

Been there, keep bandaids in the notions kit by my sewing machine and long arm.

I do the same thing all the time too!!! lol

You could have salmonella or E Coli. Remember J Miller? He had E Coli didn't know how he got it--take no chances especially with it going thru the chicken and then you. Get another tetanus shot to be on the safe side. I live on farm and butcher chickens-- I had to have stitches on finger one time and the next day had blood poisoning. Had to go back to DR again to have that taken care of. Raw meat is deadly if when injured, you don't take care of it.

After not understanding how anyone could put the sewing machine needle through the finger I did it today while repositioning the wall hanging I am doing FMQ on. I did not realize I had so much blood in me. Left a pressure dressing on for several hours then decided to change it and it starts bleeding agfain. I can still sew bkut it makes typing difficult. Hope evceryone heal from their injuries. Quilting and sewing are a dangerous hobby but I love it.

I can truly relate - having stepped on needles in the rug, sewing my thumb/fingers in the sewing machine, stuck pins, etc. Maybe Grace is my middle name. LOL. However, next time hubby comes to you with an accidental run in with a power tool, don't hold back the laughter. That was not amusing at all, in my opinion.

I read of an old saying that if you bleed during a project, you are doing a good job. I remind my DH of that every time he's working on a project. Now he reminds me!

My aunt was darning socks (along time ago when they did) and had to answer the phone. She always had the sewing basket nearby and stuck the needle into the sock and darning ball and would put it to the bottom of the basket, then close the lid. My Uncle needed a safety pin and didn't close the lid. My cousins ran and jumped on the couch and one of them rammed that darning needle right into the side of her knee with the eye of the needle penetrating and going right under the knee cap. They threw the darning needles away and just bought more socks. The kids never jumped on the couch either after that. they were afraid there were more needles. had a friend that would always check to see if a blade was sharp, yep with her fingers. I told her to invest in Johnson and Johnson.
