Great Grandma 09-26-2011 06:51 AM

When we are home, I try to check the board every day. We have been out two weeks with no WiFi at our site. Had to walk to camp store. Didn't want to sit there for hours so am trying to catch up now. We are at the dealer's waiting for some one to look at our fifth wheel that needs some work done on it. Hopefully I can get a few days' looked at so I won't be so far behind when we do get home. Have saved as lot of the days' so my in-box is really full. Need to go thru them and see why I saved them so I can clean it out.

Keeps me busy till noon every day! Then there is work to do! If I sew it invariably happens towards evening!

Not only do I spend more time on the Board than I do quilting but almost every day I see another pattern or idea that I would like to try. I am really loosing ground here but having a lot of fun doing it.

margecam52 09-26-2011 07:45 AM

Yep...know the feeling!

joycet 09-26-2011 08:30 AM

I find I"m the same way. I should be getting the Halloween stuff out and putting it up. Then going to my studio and finding my witch pattern. I know it's sort of late getting started on it...but maybe I"ll have it done in time for Thanksgiving!! LOL I find I'm always way behind...but wouldn't get rid of my computer. I love "talking" to everyone.

Glenda m 09-26-2011 09:35 AM

The pieces to the baby quilt are all cut, the machine is ON and I just stopped for a minute(1/2 hr ago). Must go back to sewing room....

chelgvns 09-26-2011 09:55 AM

Yeah...in Missouri we're "fixin'" lots of things! fixing some supper, fixing to whoop some butt, etc., fixing to get off of hear and go do some laundry before my DH fixesto come in hear and knaw my ear off! LOL

lizzyq 09-26-2011 12:13 PM

I usually fix dinner here in MA, but tonight DH is going to a meeting, a dinner meeting - YAY-no fixin' tonight.

Don't worry about it. Justify it as learning, then the guilt will go away. I learn something new everytime I pull up this web-site. Of course I have to be careful because I do this at work. I need to get this sent to my home also than I could just learn all night.

scrappy2 09-26-2011 12:29 PM

I finished a project this morning because my Internet would not come up this morning (5 hrs.) but here I am, hope I didn't miss anything.

matraina 09-26-2011 12:39 PM

This is the same for me, plus I have a calendar with most days filled. My husband had open heart surgery 6 wks. ago and was not allowed to drive. I had to drive him everywhere. Thank heavens, I get out of jail tomorrow. Two weeks' ago, I had someone clean my house. I'm thinking of having her do it again. Too many projects, not enough time.

justlooking 09-26-2011 12:41 PM

Yes, I am in the same boat!

MargeD 09-26-2011 01:50 PM

I have the same problem. Since we moved from our house in NH to an apt. in MA, I don't get to see my friends very much at all, there is no "community space" to meet our neighbors, so we stay to ourselves and I've only met a couple of people. Plus since we moved my arthritis has been a major factor in me staying in. Since I've found QB, you all have become my new friends, so I sit and chat, find out about what's new out there in cyberspace, as well as checking out some really terrific links to view later. It's probably later and I should view them, but I'm having too much fun seeing what all you have been doing. It's still better than therapy and a whole lot cheaper. Happy quilting everyone.

Tinabug 09-26-2011 01:53 PM

I am a seeker of information, aka: nosey, I want to be sure that I don't miss a tidbit or a shortcut, or a new idea, that's why I hang out here. Plus, it's loads of fun.

Busy Quilter 09-26-2011 01:56 PM

Love the term "eye candy" this site is chuck full of wonderful ideas and beautiful quilts. It is so hard to set a time limit on viewing and start doing!

JusticeClan 09-26-2011 02:26 PM

I have the exact same problem. And if you are away for a day or two (or more) you'll be on here for a long-long time trying to catch up.

emlee51 09-26-2011 02:35 PM

I have to set a timer or there's "no dinner" to fix!!! Too many beautiful quilts, tips, stories, etc. to read on here...QB rules!!!!

watson's mom 09-26-2011 05:07 PM

This happens to me every day. I tell myself that I am just checking my e-mails and next thing I know hours have passed and I have to plan to start quilting tomorrow instead of today. Tomorrow will be the same story. It's fun though, learning something new every day.

desertrose 09-26-2011 05:12 PM

I have to fess up too. This QG is my biggest downfall. :-( :-( :-( I used to a total self starter who was not distracted from my assignment, what's happened to me!

janquilts'ncrochets 09-26-2011 06:40 PM

This is why I usually don't get on the board till after 7pm. I can get things done or go where necessary during the day. Had to take my daughter to a Dr. today. She has her own home & family, but has been have dizziness problems & can't drive right now. Her family was working & I'm available so help when I can.

grammysharon 09-26-2011 10:03 PM

Sounds just like me! I thought I would stop and see what's up just for a moment! It is now 11:00 pm PDT and I should be in bed!!!

Guess I haven't been a total mush mess this afternoon, did manage to get 2 loads of laundry done, sheets changed on the bed and dinner fixed.....but then where am I??? Right back here.....step away from the keyboard!!

Rose Marie 09-27-2011 05:44 AM

Thank you scrappy2 this is my 4th day and you made me feel better.
Colds sure ruin your plans for the week. Just glad it is only a cold.

gramquilter2 09-27-2011 08:33 AM

My D & SIL are moving to Al., so I'm sure I'll hear some of the southern terms....When they were in Nashville they picked it up real fast, but moving to Mn & Ia the last few yrs, they lost it. But I'm sure they will find it real fast again.
