I quilt for fun, gifts and sanity. I always have a quilt on the frame to hand quilt and I always have several lin the works. I just love it!

I quilt for my sanity. If I don't have one to work on, I get really grouchy

:-D . My quilts are mostly for gifts--if I see fabric or a pattern that speaks of someone special, I make it for them. I've made 4 baby quilts in the last 10 months. Then I make quilts for Linus, using fun novelty prints. I also made several blocks for 'Just One Star'.

For the sheer joy of creating something! I only make them for family and friends, but mostly for me cause I love the old ways! Momma always told me I was an old soul and I know what she means. love all things old, which is really a good thing considering my hubby! LOL!

I quilt because I enjoy it and it is a way of using whatever little creativity I have. And I like the idea of keeping an old skill alive. That is why I quilt - what I do with them is different. I use them myself, give them away, and have even sold a few. Now I am making a quilt for a graduation gift. I also have a WIP that I need to finish hand quilting for a friend. He had back surgery in Jan. and it left him paralyzed and he just lost his mother. They have had a rough time.

All of the above and I love every minute of it!

Fun and I want to leave something behind for my kids to put their hands on and remember. I have some 40 quilts that came from grandmas, aunts, and great aunts and great grandmas. Mom passed away very young and she did not quilt but she could crochet like crazy. These things are very dear to me and I have made sure my 2 girls know where each one came from. PLUS my quilting is therapy. I run an office and quilting sooths my nerves and keeps me grounded. I rather spend $$$ on fabric than medication.
