Oh Mattee, how right you are. And I guess I was mistaken are not these stashes of fabric were for using, not just for looking at? No time for running to all the sales. Need more time to sew.

I applaud you for your self control. I am too often tempted to buy things I "want" but do not "need" and it is something that I am trying to curtail. I am retired and used to do some part time work to support my quilting and travel. But that job has dried up now and I am having to think twice before buying things that are really not necessary. That is life as we know it in this economy!

Gas here is $3.77 so maybe it is on the way down for all you who are over the $4.00 mark.

I agree with the cost of fuel. Here we are paying £1.59 per LITRE for diesel for our car, so DH moans every time I want to go out. Found out this week that our local quilt store has been bought and is now fresh and wonderful, so I can browse before I do my shopping each week!!

Wow! I never imagined so many responses! I know that it's been hard for so many people with the recession going on- I'm so grateful that we haven't lost our home or any thing like that and our kids are doing ok, but it does get to you from time to time. ( I really wanted to go to that sale lol) The gas prices here did go down today a little bit. That is always good. I am ready to start hitting the yard sale and estate sale venue. My new policy is- there is a LOT of great second hand yardage out there. No more buying to start a quilt. Get the quilt started from the stash and buy what is needed to finish it! What goes around comes around and times will get better! Woop Woop! (My new word- my youngest son just got home SAFE after being in Egypt for a year with the army national guard.)

I just fill my tank up this pm and paid 3.84 which is down from a high of 3.99 (last week). Someone said that gas was going for 3.67 in central Wis. Also heard that gas should be going down to 2.25 by year end.

Call them and see if they will take your order. If you do business with them - they will maybe have someone pick it up for you and mail it out.

Gas dropped to $3.79 today in Florida. We were out for 4 hours on a trip to pick up flooring and were surprised to see how much the gas had dropped.

is got to get better for all of us.. Gas here went down two cents two days ago, now it is only $3.87 a gallon. We haven't reached over $3.89 in our town, but the gas stations out by the freeway about 7 miles away went over four. |
Hey, I'm from Illinois, 30 miles west of Chicago. Where is this shop? Sounds like maybe a road trip would be fun. Our gas just dropped to $4.19 a gal.
