I so identify with what you are going through. My husband lost his job of 35 years four months ago. NO prospects in sight. Too young to retire. It really sucks that so many of us have worked hard and done the right thing all our lives and the great recession is punishing many who want to work, but there are no opportunities.

It is hard not to feel bitter, when I see those who are career welfare recipients more comfortable than us. We watch every penny we spend, and fear losing much if work doesn't come soon.

My heart is with all of us who are caught in this awful financial trap!

My husband was laid off also with no notice. Went in to work one day and was told they were laying him off. I can tell you that it has been 2 yrs now and all of our needs have been met. Maybe not all our wants. We have everything we need though. Just turn all your worries over to the Lord and trust him. Life is good.

Guess what people? Gas in BC is $1.36 (Vancouver is $1.43 or more) a litre. That is about $6.25 a gallon. And get this: the US gets 80% of its gas from Canada. Go figure! And I live 24km from town.

How about going shopping in your stash, making some baby quilts and selling them? might be just as much fun?

It's in macomb illinios. from where you are it's about 4 1/2 hours. really cool thing though- macomb is a college town and you can take the train from chicago to macomb for about 16 dollars!
