Thanks for all the votes :-) pretty much even Stevens so far!

That's a really good idea feline fanatic! I can only lay it out with 4 of the blocks as I only have 4 fat quarters of the red!

Love the red frame!!

I think both the red and blue overpower your blocks. Unless you can go with something a little tamer, I'd outline those blocks with black to help them stand out.

Have you tried the blocks on a nice sunny yellow?

ETA: Opps, should have read to the end... I like the blocks with the red framing on the blue background. It helps the blocks stand out better. Good job.

I like the red frame on the blue fabric. But I really like Tartan's idea if you go with just the blue and add more "gators" to look like they are swimming between the blocks. That would be really unexpected and different.

The red frame looks really good. That is going to be one cute quilt. Nice job.

I would go for Red.

I think the applique pieces show up best on the red, some seem to blend in too closely to the blue. How about a red background and a blue border?

All seem to agree--cute socks! I was going to suggest the red but use the lime green for cornerstones to break the red up a bit, yet tie it together. And then came the narrow frame red on blue and I kinda like that, too. Maybe the blue is a bit too intense?? Can you back it off a bit or find a small patterned fabric that let's your work be the focus?

I think the red really pops out the blocks.
