I have a big and a small one. Yes, they are worth it especially in quilt piecing. When you are doing some of the cutting, especially with more than one layer of fabric, trying to keep the pieces straight so that the next cut is accurate can be tedious. this allows you to turn the mat and not worry about messing with the fabric.

It's impossible to find a rotating cutting mat in my neck of the woods, so I hacked one. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and bought a non skid lazy susan turn table (the biggest they had 18 in) and set a smaller cutting mat inside. Works a treat. I could easily fit a 12 in square mat inside. (the one in the pic is 12 x 9 as it's all I had on hand). This set up only cost me $20. If I didn't like it, I would have just put the lazy susan to work in my pantry, so I wasn't losing anything by trying, but I'm keeping this set up. Works for me.

I have wanted one for a long time and got a 60% off coupon from Michael's and just said "Merry Christmas to me!" Haven't used it yet but am anxious to see what everyone has to say about these.

I have two and never use them. Nothing wrong with them. I think overall I need a bigger mat and if I need a smaller one I use a piece I salvaged from a broken big mat and just rotate it around. It moves easier then the rotating mats seem to. This is also easier to take along too, the smaller piece of mat.

I have one, but don't like it. The mat is not entirely supported, so the corners and middle "give" when you try to cut over them. I rarely use it and it may get donated somewhere when we move in a couple of years.

I have the small and large Beba's turn tables. LOVE the turn table, but hate her mats, so I just switched them out with olfas. The thing about her turntables is that they are constructed so that when you put pressure on them when you make a cut, the feet make contact with your work table preventing them from moving. The lazy susan mechanism is also sized so they are not tippy
