I just bought a 18X24 a few months ago, it's a good size. Hancocks had there rotary mats for 50% off on a holiday weekend. It was an upgrade from a smaller one that had been used to many times. :)

Have 4 or 5 of them, all the way up to 24"x36". Also have one that has a ironing board on the other side. I wouldn't have it any other way.

They make a bigger rotating rotary mat than 12 1/2"?? I didn't know that. I'll have to look for one. I have the twelve and a half and love it. It's so much easier to spin the whole mat than to have to pick up the fabric and turn it. I love mine.

Not sure of the brand but don't buy the baby blue colored one from Walmart. The lines are painted on and have already chipped/flaked off after only using it once or twice.
|
The one I have is in a white rectangle base and the mats sits flush inside it. It's 11 x 17. It's raised off the base about 1/2". It is so easy to turn, it glides like a lazy susan. It's weighted and doesn't tip at the end of the cut. The only name on the base is Amazing Notions by Elna.

I had a old lazy susan ,glued on one of those rubber shelfliners to keep everything from sliding and topped it with a cuttingmat which I cut to size...TADA
Have been using it for 6 years |
Mine is a Fiskars. It isn't self-healing like some but I think I'll get my money's worth out of it.
|
The only rotating mat I've seen at Walmart is the Fiskars yellow one. We use them at guild and they are nice. The local Walmart donated two to our guild.

50% off coupons: I may just get one of those this weekend! I can't say I've seen a 17-inch around here, but I have seen 12s.

Have been using it for 6 years If you can find the older heavy wooden lazy susans it would work great. Keep an eye out at thrift stores and yard sales. The newer plastic ones will tip at the ends when cutting off center. I tired making one with the plastic turntable. It wasn't sturdy enough. |
