the old one 09-23-2011 05:31 AM

Some years ago I purchased a round quilt pattern, made some pretty table cloths for gifts. It was a take-off on log cabin. Wonder where that pattern is, a new family member also has a round table. piecefully, the old one

A Little hint about lap robes: use flannel on the back to help prevent them from falling off the lab. Be sure to prewash your flannel!

"Just ordinary round quilts".
Ordinary? No, no, no, no, no....
Spectacular? Yes!

Maresan 09-23-2011 06:45 AM

Never seen a round quilt before but these are just beautiful.

caspharm 09-23-2011 06:54 AM

They are beautiful!

There are lots of sites for circle quilts. There are also several quilt books, like "Circle Quilts" published by C&T.

I love these! I too have a round glass topped table! What a great idea! I have made fabric, reversible tablecloths for it that have elastic around them. That way the cloth stays put even with toddler grandkids around!

stichinluvr 09-23-2011 07:10 AM

I like that. I've never seen a pattern for one or probably would have gotten it.

wvdek 09-23-2011 07:24 AM

Very nice. The colors are great.

I have two round tables and have not gotten the time to make a round top for them. You are inspiring me though.

blueangel 09-23-2011 07:27 AM

Very nice. Would look nice on a round table.

margecam52 09-23-2011 07:29 AM

As table toppers or wall hangings, these are beautiful!

athomenow 09-23-2011 07:43 AM

Love the look of that. Still working on my square quilts but that's something I'd love to do one day!

OKLAHOMA PEACH 09-23-2011 07:44 AM

I haven't made any round ones, but yours are great looking AND a really good idea as decorative table covers. I have a round dining table that would love to have one of those on it, BUT what do I do with the clutter that's on the table and the messy people who live here (including me)?

Nanaquilts44 09-23-2011 09:00 AM

They are beautiful.

Carol Ann 09-23-2011 09:55 AM

Beautiful!! What pattern did you use? Would love to try making one.

pscott392 09-23-2011 10:18 AM

Purchased a book from one of the Board members (Dreamer2009) called Quilts Without Corners by Cheryl Phillips. All of the quilts are round. Haven't made one yet, but it is on my bucket list.

MargeD 09-23-2011 10:36 AM

Just ordinary round quilts - for my rather scratched glass table.

Wow, those are stunning!

What a way to make lemonade out of a lemon (scratched round table top). Congratulations for both the beauty and making the most of what you have!

I have a friend who made a dahlia quilt in the round. She has a dark bedspread on her kingsized bed and then covers it with the relatively light coloured dahlia quilt, starting below the pillows. It looks really stunning that way.

PWinston 09-23-2011 12:25 PM

No, I don't make round quilts but yours are gorgeous.

sylviasmom 09-23-2011 12:33 PM
