Dawn Hendrix 06-18-2008 05:06 PM

I am VERY glad you LOVE IT!.... ME to!

mareliba 06-19-2008 05:11 AM

I received Terri's center in the mail yesterday. It is really pretty. I already am getting some ideas of what I am going to do and it isn't even due until August!

Terri - do you want to stick with just yellow, blue and white? I have a floral with a little bit of green in it, but also has yellow, blue and white that would look real pretty but will find something else if you don't want any other colors.

If you can stick with the same colors that would be great, BUT...if you want to introduce something else, that would be great too! Did that help you any? lol
I'm sure ANYTHING you do to it will be spectacular!

tlrnhi 06-19-2008 10:42 PM

Ok, I just sent out Mareliba's square to Imaquilter.
Should be there by next Friday.
I instructed the post man to take careful care of it! :)

tlrnhi 06-22-2008 10:31 PM

I just recieved Dawn's center today.
I KNOW EXACTLY what I'm going to do with it!
I'm GOING TO KEEP IT! muhahahaha :)
No, really, I know what border I'm going to use :)

bettlove 06-23-2008 10:26 AM

Hey!! I have an exciting idea! Why doesn't everyone post a picture of themselves so we can see who we are sewing for and talking to?

I'll do it only if I get to keep Cordelia's square.
Oops.......dang it! I don't have it anymore, I sent it out! lol

mareliba 06-24-2008 05:22 AM

Bettlove - I think that is a great idea! I would love to know who I am making things for.

OK - I looked for the name our new thread was under and it wasn't. It was changed a bit and I just want everyone to be able to get to it. It is called 'Our Challenge Block Swap is up and running!!!!'.

Make sure to bookmark it.

This block is for DA Mayer is is called Buzzards Roost (Group 2). The colors are actually better than what shows on the picture.

Okay here I am. Just add 50 + years or so and you get an idea of what I look like! LOL
the 2nd one was a few years ago at our youngest son's graduation.

Sew N' Snow 06-24-2008 09:10 AM

A cute little girl all grown up to be an even cuter lady...

vicki reno 06-24-2008 09:25 AM

Thats sweet of you to say that! thanks. My sister belongs to this group also, I am going to find a pic of us as kids and post it. I borrowed these pictures from my mom and scanned them and sent them off so I could have my own copies. She has 8 x 10's of us in the hallway of her home. All of us were this age or younger in her photos. I think its a neat idea and will frame my copies and do the same thing.

vicki reno 06-24-2008 09:39 AM

Sure! Its not a secret. She is Virginia Cunningham and she lives in Sout Louisiana.

It was kick going in the limo, a gift from our daughter so I could have a few glasses of wine. To my surprise the limo driver was a former student and when he came to our house to pick us up he gave me a hug and started to cry. He is a really big guy and I really didn't know what to do but to hug him back. LOL.

Can I just tell you how much I hate my pic taken...lol.

This is the most current pic of me. It was taken in March at our "boys night out" with my son's school. He just finished Kindergarten. Isn't he the handsomest????

vicki reno 06-24-2008 11:48 AM

This is so cool! Finally putting faces with names.

mic-pa 06-24-2008 12:11 PM

that happened to me too, Shadow. Never again.

tlrnhi 06-24-2008 05:53 PM

Everyone looks MA-VA-LUS, simply MA-VA-LUS!!
Love the ride in the limo! What a great gift for you!

Barb..you & DH are a great looking couple, but I had to crack up..That looks like a cattle prod in your DH's hand or what we call a "hot shot" It has little metal things on the end that shock cows when you poke them with it...surely not ....we don't even use them on the cattle! Did the groom need prodding?

Some times I think of it as a Hort Shot. LOL Unfortunately it is his white cane. He is totally blind and it folds to about 1 foot long. It scares the cqt and and fasinates young children. What is really fun is when we walk down the sidewalks people scatter like flies and it is amazing how many people hold doors open for us and we are seated at the end of rows of chairs, etc. So it does have it's advantages. I guess the biggest gift of this challenge, I can get by making a mess on the dining room table when I am working on a project and he doesn't have to see it. We have been married 50 years and 45 of them he had some vision and my messiness was one of the things we had issues with. And I don't think we would make it to 51 years if he ever looked inside of my sewing room.
LOL.

tlrnhi 06-28-2008 05:32 PM

That's a great guy you have there!
My SIL is blind and uses a cane. Let me tell you...she can be deadly with that thing! Don't try to hide from her....the CANE WILL find you! lol

51 years? WOW!! Congrats!!

I'm afraid I've been remiss in this thread. I don't think I've transferred all the pics over to the pictures thread either, so I was in here and looking at everybody's pics!

Mareliba, I'm jealous of you standing in the water.

I don't have any pictures of me other than what I can snap for you with my web cam.

So, here's me typing this message on my computer.

tlrnhi 06-29-2008 07:37 AM

Isn't it great to put names with faces?
Cordelia, I'm sorry you can'g have a pic standing in the water.
Maybe fill your bathtub and then take a pic. Put a nice tropical shower curtain in the background and voila! ;)
It'd be just like your own tropical puddle! :)

Alright Dawn....What do you think?
It's not EXACTLY how I thought it would be, but 3 people that saw it thought it was nice, so I left it on instead of tearing it out like I was going to. Needless to say...I won't try this border pattern again any time soon.

I couldn't find the thread under Pictures to post this, so I put them here

Closeup of border without the sashing border I am going to put one. Monique likes it and if she doesn't behave, she's getting sent out with it too!

Monique seems to approve of it.

Cordelia 06-29-2008 06:24 PM

Awsome, Teri. I'll go and find that RR thread in Pictures. I've been saving all the images too. So, any I don't see in the thread, I'll post.

I keep admiring those beautiful braid borders, but I haven't made one yet. I'd like to. I'm not sure how ...

It's been sort of quiet in the Round Robin group. Everyone is busy, vacationing, etc.

So, it looks like there's one more border? They need at least five borders to be a decent sized lap quilt.

bettlove 06-29-2008 06:47 PM

Your cat looks a great deal like my cat, Hillary buttlicker. Same color and all. You can see her in a picture I posted on this site. A larger picture of my avatar. :-P ;)

bettlove 06-29-2008 06:53 PM

On page 16

tlrnhi 06-29-2008 07:07 PM

This is the 3d border going on.
So, that means 2 more before it gets back to it's home.

Is yours as naughty as mine? Mine is SOOO naughty.
She just jumped up on my sewing table and has knocked EVERYTHING off. That's her favorite game. She sits there and pushed everthing off one by one. Good thing she can't move the sewing machine, but if she could, she would!

beachlady 06-30-2008 03:35 AM

Terri nice braid border. I just love what everyone has done with the centers. Hope all are posted when done.
