Terri, the block I did was from Marcia Hohn's site, Blocks Galore. It's a biggie. If you go to her site and look under the heading blocks over 16" or so, it's in that list, the Carpenter's Wheel.

I used 3.5" thangles. I'm actually making it again for a wall hanging because I played around so much with blocks and colors that I've got enough to make another one.

I'm also making matching pillows -- though not in the carpenter wheel pattern, the bambury cross pattern.

QuiltingTurtle 05-28-2008 10:56 AM

Well I am now starting over from square one  Don't worry this is only the 3rd time yet. Ok I am not finding this as easy as I thought it would be.

I have Dawn's scrappy center (to remind everyone) lol It's even worse now that I have the pic of Mareliba's to see. She did such a wonderful job.

btw Mareliba the oblong shape has given me fits too. I think I have it figured out now.

lol I am having fun though ...... :)

I've decided to watch ya'll. I've recently re-enlisted with this site after a long hiatus and look what ya'll are doing! Can't wait to see the finished product and I hope you decide to do it again as I would like to get in on one myself.

Oh, no worries Cordelia. I'm having fun making squares to use in ANOTHER quilt I will be making, I think.
I just cannot sew a straight line or cut one to save my life at the moment.
I think what I'm going to do is just cut the squares bigger, then cut them down to size. I layed in bed last night and that was all I could think about. Then the bed started rumbling...guess it was God's way of telling me to put all ideas to bed and get some sleep. (the rumbling was an earthquake,,,just a small one)

Wow!!!This is the most interesting and busy spot on the forum...I am so impressed with all of the ideas coming together ..I noticed that SewHappy had received Vicki's beautiful appliqued center and she was asking for ideas for the border..Been racking my poor brain for ideas but keep coming back to peach and green for the accent colors..

ScubaK 05-29-2008 08:11 PM

This is the best thread since I joined...
It is really great seeing the results and reading the thoughts that are going into choosing everything.
Good job everyone.

Ok, idea 999 and 1001 went out the window. Ok, they are sitting on my cutting table.
I'm now going with idea 2017. That is going to be it! Not turning back or going to do anything different. Just having a problem deciding. I think I have QADD (quilters attention deficiet disorder) lol

Dawn Hendrix 05-30-2008 01:18 PM

OK I just mailed another center to Mareliba and 1 to Quilting turtle.

I know they are early .. I have 3 more and 1 more on its way to me... I don't want you ladies overwhelmed so I am making sure they don't get to you as fast as they are coming to me!

Lets see I have terri's and imaquilter and I think another for imaquilter.. mercy guess this work thing is getting in the way!

bettlove 05-30-2008 01:30 PM

hy do you have so many? Are there that many round robins going around? Why don't you post pictures so we can see all the things you are doing? You are a really busy lady!!

mareliba 05-30-2008 01:32 PM

Dawn, Feel free to send mine to me as soon as you get thru with them. I sometimes need the extra time. I am looking forward to receiving this one. I do not have a clue yet as to what I am going to do but I sure have been thinking about it.

How did you get so many? Boy, you really need to keep organized to make sure that the right ones get to the right people!

Cordelia 05-30-2008 03:26 PM

Her excellency of the highest has informed me that a package arrived for me from MS.

Hmmmmm. Can't wait to see it.

I have it delivered to her house because someone is always home and it won't be left on a doorstep.

imaquilter 05-30-2008 06:28 PM

Dawn,

Feel free to take up to July 15th on mine that you just received. It is a month early to you as it was a little out of order. It does not need to leave you until July 15th unless the person behind you wants it sooner.

Jeanye

tlrnhi 05-30-2008 09:36 PM

IMAQUILTER....
Since I didn't get the updated list, I NOW have it, mine (the one I made) won't get to you, so I will send that to you once I get it back.
I NOW have the updated list, so it won't get screwed up.

Sorry ladies...it was my fault for those that are on the list I am on.
For some reason, I did not get the new list that was sent out when Cordelia was added. :(

tlrnhi 06-01-2008 06:01 AM

Alrighty! Cordelia's square is done, FINALLY!
I'm posting a picture of it in the pictures section with the rest of them.
It will be going out to Imaquilter in the morning... I hope.

tlrnhi 06-05-2008 12:01 AM

Ok, I sent Cordelia's block out to Imaquilter today.
Didn't have any big envelopes at my house, so had to put it in the envelope at post office. 2 ladies there were oohing and aahing over how pretty it is. :)

I am having a senior moment. How do we get to the pictures?

imaquilter 06-05-2008 10:14 AM

The round robin pics are under Round Robin in the pictures section.

BETTLOVE - Sewhappy's center was mailed to you priority mail today. You should receive it by Tuesday.

imaquilter 06-05-2008 12:39 PM

Hello everyone. Just wanted to remind you of the order of the groups. Always send each project on to the person directly below your name. You will only send each quilt to 1 person throughout this entire process. For example: Cordelia (In Group 1) finds her name in the list. Tlrnhi is directly below her so she will send each quilt that she adds a border to to Tlrnhi.

I hope this makes sense. I have had a few questions on it so, I wanted to make sure we were all clear on it.

Everyoone is doing a great job!

I just realized I never let Teri know that I sent out Mareliba's quilt top on Tuesday.

She should get it the beginning of next week. Maybe even Saturday. It went out priority mail, registered receipt. They said three to four days.

Hehe. We'll see.

Ok, let's just see how long it takes THIS time. lol
Actually, it's been taking about 5 days for things to get to me. Now, for me to send to other? UGH!! It seems like it's taking forever!

bettlove 06-08-2008 11:37 AM

Imaquilter has sent sewhappy's center + one border to me. It has arrived, (or will tomottow when I get to the post office to pick it up.) I sure hope I can do it justice, or maybe I will have to settle for just not ruining it!! Wish me luck!

DH went to the P.O. today and picked up sewhappy's beautiful center with imaquilters fantastic border on it. Now, what am I to do?? Going to be hard to follow this act.

imaquilter 06-09-2008 01:05 PM

I received Cordelia's center from Tlrnhi today! Can't wait to get started on it.

imaquilter 06-09-2008 01:06 PM

Quilting Turtle...you did an AWESOME job! I love braided borders.

QuiltingTurtle 06-09-2008 01:10 PM

Thank you so much imaquilter!!

tlrnhi 06-09-2008 06:30 PM

Ok, I just got Mareliba's square from Cordelia in the mail yesterday.
GORGEOUS!!
Now, going to have to rack my brain on this one!
I won't be able to do anything with it until next week since kiddos are here.

I do, just want to let Imaquilter know that IF she can DARKEN my name on the square I signed, then go for it.
The pen I have is a FINE POINT and it was hard trying to get my name on it, since the point kept grabbing the fabric.

Thanks all!!

vicki reno 06-10-2008 06:38 AM

Great!!! I foresee sleepless nights until I come up with a border. Thats going to be hard to follow! Its sure is pretty!

imaquilter 06-10-2008 07:55 AM

Hey there! I will glad to darken your name.

A little trick for writing on fabric: Iron some freezer paper on the back and then it won't grab the fabric. It stabilizes it. Then the freezer paper just peels right off. You can find it with the foil, etc. at your grocery store. Iron the shiny side to the fabric.

Thanks for the tip!
I'll have to try that on this one I have now.
Just made me mad that I couldn't get it dark enough or to look good.
I ordered the pen from Joanns online and they only had the thin tip. Would have LOVED to have had a thicker one.

And, thanks for fixing it for me too! :)

sewhappy 06-12-2008 12:43 AM

finally done and on its way!
it was fun to work on hope you like it Vicki.
