Sashing or no??

I know this is a pretty rough estimate of what this will look like both ways (since they're not sewn), but which do you think will look better? With the white sashing or without? My blocks aren't perfectly square, so sashing could help me even them up.

Cool!!! You can vote yes or no!!

Dina 11-04-2011 09:53 AM

I like it without sashing best, but the sashes look good too. Not much help, huh?

frarose 11-04-2011 09:56 AM

I think the sashing around the blocks is plenty and you don't need any other.

Delta 11-04-2011 10:01 AM

No sashing. I like the colors as is. great job.

RonieM 11-04-2011 10:03 AM

I think it looks best with out the sashing.

QandE2010 11-04-2011 10:05 AM

I vote without the sashing. But if you need it to make the quilt the size you want, it does look nice WITH the sashing. So I would use the sashing as a last resort.

AliKat 11-04-2011 10:48 AM

Definitely NOT the white sashing. Can you find another material that is both blue and orange, or just either blue or orange, and not too busy to detract from the blocks?

I vote for without the white sashing, too! Looks great without it.

mommamac 11-04-2011 11:05 AM

no sashing makes it looks more cohesive I think - sashing chops it up.

fatquarters 11-04-2011 11:41 AM

Without, it will be great

yayaquilts 11-04-2011 11:44 AM

I like it without white!

mom-6 11-04-2011 11:47 AM

I also like it better without the white sashing. If you feel the need for sashing, I would choose something besides white.

scraphq 11-04-2011 11:54 AM

My vote is for no sashing. Nicw blocks.

fluffygirl 11-04-2011 12:03 PM

I like it better without sashing too. It's going to be a great looking quilt whatever you decide.

I think the alternating frames provide plenty of sashing, so I vote for no sashing.

Margo in Maine 11-04-2011 12:09 PM

I like it without sashing...colors can stand by themselves..great colors

bettysew 11-04-2011 12:14 PM

Jim's Gem 11-04-2011 12:15 PM

I vote without sashing!

DogHouseMom 11-04-2011 12:18 PM

I vote no sashing ... but I also vote LOVE the new "poll" option!!

deemail 11-04-2011 12:18 PM

how did you get the poll on the thread?

luckylindy333 11-04-2011 12:21 PM

If you want to use sashing to straighten up your blocks, can you use a different color other than the white? Something about the white kind of deadens the other two colors. Maybe a bright blue or a darker orange??? It is going to be nice whatever you do...

I like it better without the sashing. And how awesome is it that we can have polls now? It saves the time of reading through all the posts to get a quick answer to your question.

dakotamaid 11-04-2011 12:24 PM

I vote for no white sashing.

kathy6696 11-04-2011 12:29 PM

I like it better without the white.

Cosy 11-04-2011 12:43 PM

no sashing

MaryStoaks 11-04-2011 12:45 PM

I like it without sashing.

amandasgramma 11-04-2011 12:47 PM

Normally I like sashing, but in this case, I like it without!!!!

noveltyjunkie 11-04-2011 12:49 PM

I can't see the poll (iPhoning again) but, like everyone else who commented, I think the white sashing disrupts the design. Without looks great!

Crafty1 11-04-2011 12:50 PM

I like it best without the sashing!

Camping Angel 11-04-2011 12:57 PM

Normally I would say to use sashing, but in this particular project, I would leave it out.

quiltstodo 11-04-2011 12:59 PM

I agree no sashing

katiebear1 11-04-2011 01:18 PM

I like it without the sashing. BTW love your avatar Aren't beagles the best?

decky 11-04-2011 01:24 PM

I like it without the white

pocoellie 11-04-2011 01:35 PM

I like it better without the sashing, but all that really matters is which way do YOU like it?

SavedByGrace 11-04-2011 01:57 PM

Some of you have asked how I posted the poll.......I stumbled across it by accident:). When I started the new thread, I had to scroll to the bottom of the page and there was an option for a poll. You can even choose how many options you want.....for example, I had 2: yes and no. Pretty neat!

Good to know everyone is in agreement on the sashing!

QuiltnNan 11-04-2011 02:01 PM

i love that voting setup

meemersmom 11-04-2011 02:05 PM

Can you please share where you found the polling feature and how you added it to your post? This is one of the cooler new features I have seen so far.

sewwhat85 11-04-2011 02:38 PM

i like it without the sashing

Nice work on the poll and thanks for taking the leap for all of us!
