Yep! Guilty!
|
i made my youngest dd a dress for her baptism.. she was 9 mo old by the time the godparents could get here from out of town..
it was made out of pink & white striped seersucker, with an eyelet pinnefore.. it was lovely i have been hoarding the left over pink & white for years... a little in each baby girl quilt, used it in that dd christmas stocking.. (made all the kids, kids in law, & grandkids stockings in thier favorite color so i wouldn't have to put thier names on them.. lazy, but looks like i'm smart) i have a bit more than a fat quarter left, and am holding that for if she ever has a baby girl... it will finish out in that quilt...but it is still in the drawer of my main sewing chest that is right next to my machine, so i can take it out & stroke it whenever i want! . |
You are right. Sometimes I just buy fabric that I like with no plan to use it for anything. I just love the fabric. If I ever do use it it also has to be for someone very, very special.

i guess i have poor impulse control and limited foresight! i'm get fabric i love and i can't wait to cut into it. even if i make a "mistake" i figure i'll be enjoying the experience and i just won't point my mistakes out to anyone who would be bothered by them.

I bought the FQ pack of "Nature's Choice" by Moda and I have it sitting where I can look at it all the time. It is so pretty. Someday I'll make a quilt for my bed with it. Not sure what pattern yet though.

I want to "gift" so many family members and friends and agonize over cutting those lovelies and then them not being loved and cherished after I managed to get 'er done and cry at the going away party etc. neurotic....just plain neurotic, Mousie! ;) |

And also, what if I use it for this and I will be sorry I didn't save it for that.
For me, it's like eating your cake and having it, too. Such a dilemma when it comes to using your very faves. Is there a group for this???? |
