No, I always look forward to my next new favorite.

I have several of my favorites and don't want to put a blade to it. I think of something to make with it and then I just look, fold and put it in the save box.

I have a stash of glitzy fabrics and I have a hard time cutting into them, but they sure spice up a quilt so I just bite my lip and chop away. I don't want it to go to Goodwill when i'm gone!

I bought a batique remnant at a nice shop a couple of years ago - I figured it was mis-marked because it was 1 1/2 yds for $6. I love this fabric and have used is sparingly for leaves, backgrounds, etc.

yep, I have piles of the "too good to use" fabrics. I'm trying to get over it. LOL

not long after i started this post, my daughter (26) who wants to learn to quilt - was going thru my stash trying to find fabric she liked to make her first project with. i felt so bad but she would keep picking up fabrics and i would have to tell her that it was too special to cut up. she thought i was crazy and couldn't understand why i bought something i don't plan to use. i figured if she learns to quilt she will also learn why some fabrics just are not meant to be cut! i quess i am teaching her to be a fabric hoarder? lol

I have the opposite problem. I have lots of fabric I bought a long time ago that I'm no longer wild about and I don't want to use it. I only want to use my cute new stuff.

I can't really count the pieces I have that are just "TOO SPECIAL" to cut up. However, this past year I did take a Landscape Collage class and the piece that best met my background needs was a piece of Ricky Timms hand dyed fabric. Not only did I cut it, I cut the area I needed from the center of the yard. It was totally liberating and the collage turned out lovely.

Good gravy, I'd have to almost say my whole stash is my favorite and I'm having a hard time cutting it. I keep thinking one day I'll just pull some coordinates and start but then something else distracts me-----like reading this board most of the day!

Are we normal or do we need "help"?

at my house "normal" is just a setting on the dryer!
