Yes I have fabrics that may never be quilt worthy! I do let other quilters visit the "museum" and there is always a gasp and many oh.. how beutiful remarks. There have been offers of trade and money offered for me to let some of the pieces go to "other" museums and promises that they will be well cared for....but I can not cut or part with them. I have come to openly admit at pruchase time that "this is a Museum piece". I guess admitting there is a problem is the first step??!!!! It is 60" wide and I got 1 1/2 yards. It is white-white with lots of orchid (color), a delicious blend of greens (ferns, leaves-greenery), and has these berry/fuschia flowers that I could eat with a spoon they are such a yummy color! I am salivating as i describe it!!! I have daydreamed about making pillow shams or a tote or a wall hanging with it, but I always fold it back up and put it in a container that is marked, "THE ONE!" One day I am going to take it to my lqs and get some of each color in it and make a quilt for me...then maybe I will be able to make pillows with it...but I never see that same shade of scrumptious berry colored fabric....ANYWHERE! I think I have the only one this beautiful in the world...shhhh! Until I find some that is as perfect, I guess I will write "MUSEUM" on that box and guard it with my life  |

I cant cut a single piece , maybe one day the perfect pattern will come along , until then I stroke, refold , admire, and gently put it away . My quilting friends reckon they are going to line my "coffin " with it one day . At least I will still have it with me ...... I tend to think of any book that is in it as "Special"! :-D |

That made me stop and think....why am I saving this fabric when I too could be enjoying snuggling up under a beautiful quilt.
I read the posts about people going to yard sales and finding the ''mother load'' of goodies and I don't want my favorites to end up someplace ''icky''....vbg!! but lining my casket is an idea!! I WILL have to muster some courage and use it. I can't let it live a wasted life, locked away...somehow, I must find a way... I have three daughters that like quarters more than quilts!!! |

You all know we are artists, right? We are describing the artists temperament and perspective here. It's funny, but i was always so careful not to play favorites with my kids. They were all my favorite ;) |

Made my youngest an Easter dress with pink with white flowers on it and a bib with eyelet lace. She was adorable in her frilly, twirly, lacey pink and white dress with blonde curls and adorable sweet smile. ahh! such memories.... ;-) |
