That is beautiful, JenniePenny!

I'm one who does not mix poly in with my cottons. I enjoy working with scraps, but also have stash to use. Have plenty of cottons, so no need for ploy or others. :)

All of your quilts are beautiful, They show how well fabric's can be mixed. I have used poly with cottons in the past and will do it again if I have colors that go together. I have a lot of very old calico's from my DM's fabrics and I mix them with newer fabrics all the time with good luck.

There was polyester, cotton, blends, jersey, and seersucker of all things. I didn't know if it would even come out right in the end. I was doing QAYG from You Tube. It is on my bed 5 years later, and I love it! Ugly, yes, but warm and functional and just right for me. All of those fabrics worked into a quilt for sure.
Mixing fabrics is never "bad" unless you don't like how they feel together. |
JenniePenny and Sewbizgirl -- gorgeous quilts!!

I love this quilt! You have inspired me to make one like it! Thank you for showing this!

I agree; I don't mix fabrics. Stick to all cotton. You'll be glad you did. I do have an all polyester quilt from the 50's and I think it will last forever!!!
