Here's one I made a few years ago for my great niece.

The 16 patches were made from 2" scrap squares. The pink X's were made from 3-1/2" squares that were snow-balled on two corners.

katier825, you just gave me the perfect idea for some fabric I have. I have some charms, some fat quarters and some yardage and the first quilt in your post would work perfectly with all of that.

Sew a coordinating border around each block. That will stretch them out a lot and make it more interesting too.

Here's an I spy one I've just done! Starting with 4 1/2" squares and adding 2" strips log cabin style!

Thanks to everyone who responded - gave me a lot of great ideas and sites for patterns.

Love both, buy my favorite is the frogs. I have four great grandchildren and I am always looking for new ideas for quilts. You ladies inspire me. Thank you for sharing. Happy quilting.

Bonnie Hunter also has a pattern called Dancing 9 Patch that she made quilts for her nephews. I used her idea and made a Dancing 4 patch from scraps for a friend's baby. Turned out good even if I do say so myself. BTW you don't have to match seams in the Dancing 9 Patch.

Loved looking at all these patterns and made note of them for the next time I need a baby quilt or just want to do something small. Thanks, everyone!
