Never wear shoes. Ex California beach bum.

Not!

I always love this question when it comes up on the board. Even when I go to take a sewing lessons someplace, I where shoes I can easily kick my right shoe off.

I never sew with shoes. I don't like to wear shoes indoors...or outdoors, if I can avoid it...finally warm enough to go barefoot around the yard.
And - when I was a child, I studied piano for 10 years. We had recitals 3x a year, very formal, dressed up in stockings and heels, (it was the late 70's/early 80's) in the teacher's living room. At home, I practiced shoeless, including the piano pedals. So, at the recitals, I would discreetly (though it wasn't too discreet) slip off my shoe or shoes once I sat down at the piano. My very formal teacher did not love this, but that's what I needed to do, so I did it. I did make sure I had no runs in my stockings!

I kick my shoes off no matter if I'm sewing or not. Then I find pairs of shoes around the sun room. I have to remind myself that it's illegal to drive without a shoe on the right foot, especially on a highway trip. I don't feel that I have enough control of the foot pedal if I keep my shoe on when sewing. But then, as opposed to driving when I apply pressure with the ball of my foot, when I sew, I use my toes to apply pressure.

ME!! I've always sewn barefoot.

I'm barefoot most of the time, it makes it easier to locate the pedal to use the Bernina "tap" when I want to do a half stitch.

Yes, ma'am, no shoes on these feet unless it is really superduper cold then my favorite slipper are on, but in Texas it rarely gets that cold for very long. Got to be able to feel the foot control.
