Since I've become a quilter, the house is a mess more often, and my sewing machine inventory has grown from one to six.

Since I've become a quilter, my DH has learned to plan our RV trips around Quilt stores, and now he takes a book to read.

Since I've become a quilter
I've turned our bedroom into a studio and filled it with fabric,
I've watched my husband meander around sewing machines, ironing boards, projects and other quilting related items.
I've found such happiness in quilting.
I feel "cozier" in life with lots of quilts around me and my family!

Since i've become a quilter...the spare bedroom is called my sew-cave.
My living room has a sewing machine in it.
My subscriptions all have quilts in them.
I study every place I go for hidden "quilt blocks", lol.
I go to the doctor and talk about the color schemes in the rooms!
I too, get paint chip cards for coordinating fabrics ;)
When decorating a room, the first decision is what will get quilted and the rest is planned around that!
I used to play games on my computer, now it's an endless place of quilting sites and fabric shops!
I can't leave the house for more than 30 minutes without a quilting magazine.
I don't have a favorite color either!
I used to dream of my kids going to college, now I hope they discover quilting...it's the best hobby in the world...a great stress reliever, and your never bored.
My dh has one answer when he picks up the phone, since it's always for me..."she's sewing!" :-D

:D Painter's tape can be used in so many ways. It's basically the only tape that does not leave adhesive residue on your fabrics. I found out the hard way that masking tape does leave behind adhesive. I use it to mark straight line sewing on the quilt top, hold my backing fabric and batting firmly in place while pinning the top down and the list goes on and on. And adding a teaspoon of vinegar to heavy-bleeding fabrics like reds and navies will set the color and help prevent that bleeding.

We no longer have a dining room, it's a sewing room

Since quilting, I too am more at peace with myself and other people. I used to get so upset with what people thought, but now I can quilt or piece fabric and make something beautiful. I love making quilts, talking about quilting, teaching others how to piece or handquilt gives me so much satisfaction in life. My life and I hope my family & friends have changed for the better! No greater joy have I experienced since the day my son was born till I took my 1st quilt class & was hooked!!

Since I became a quilter I've learned to graciously accept the praise that comes after show and tell. What an ego boost when the self esteem is low.

Since I've become a quilter I feel like I've finally found a hobby I really enjoy and can make other people just as happy with a quilt I've made :)

And I've learned how to sew!
