I would start by thinking-WHAt do I have coming up that I might want to make a gift for?- Christmas? baby? birthday?- Then I'd consider patterns& stash!

Me,too. Doubt that I'll ever see the end. I have enough trouble finding the end to put new ones on.

My "to do list" is never ending and will probably never be done! Feel sorry for my children, they'll have to deal with it when I'm gone...I've just put a note in my will to call the local quilt guild and let them have it all:)

This is about the time I would take a stroll through the "pictures" section here and also the "tutorials" section here. I am always inspired by something here. It may not be what I make, but it may remind me of something I've been wanting to do. I would also start going through my books and magazines. I like to wait 3-5 days and really go through everything to be sure I'm making exactly what I'm inspired to do right now. Using this method, I have never, nor do I now have any UFO's. If I don't love something from the start, I won't even start it.

Ditto.

In my book you are amazing and I don't even know you. Cannot imagine being in the spot you are in. My UFO list is so long that it will take the rest of my lifetime and them someone else will be finishing up unquilted tops for me but congrats to you and if it were me I would do either of the ways you mentioned but I would use my stash not buy cause I have way too much of it too !

I go to a BOTM and always get ideas and see class options. I signed up for one where we'll make a quilt to go into a quilted "frame" that changes every season.

Unfortunately, I have been buying "projects" and they are piling up!

I like your idea of going with a theme you like, use some of your stash, build around it.

Never a problem for me, but I suggest looking through magazines and books or online at quilts.

Or, just play with your fabrics, mix and match them into 'kits'.

You'll be inspired in no time.

Caution: Going to quilt shops for inspiration is the best tactic, but extremely dangerous!! :)
