I couldn't imagine finishing my to do list... not with 8 grandchildren.. Any way my stash consists of theme fabric or maybe a certain color screams someones name... I find these on Shop Hops or just visiting my LQS... Which is my suggestion for inspirations. .. just walk thru you LQS and see what catches your eye... Maybe someones favorite color or something they collect... then find a pattern ... the ladies at these shops always have ideas...... or once you find the main piece... post it here on the board for good ideas on what to do ...Happy hunting...

I think you are a rare bird. (No offense intended!!) Most of us seem to have so many ideas crammed into our brains it is hard not to have two or three or (pick a number) of projects started, and about a hundred more on our to do list.
you must have a nice organized brain - unlike mine, which is always swimming with ideas and plans. It gets muddy in there sometimes... Look through patterns, magazines, pictures on this site, your fabric - and I bet something will click! Let us know what you start. |

How do you decide what to quilt next, if all your to-do projects are done? I have been looking at my stash. Should I select a fabric I like and then build around that. I know there is no right and wrong way, but I seem a direction to go, and, other than stacks of fabric all around me, and pieces laid across my design wall, I just seem to be stumped. What works best for me? Keeping my "to do" list at an unmanageable length! That way, you're never CLOSE to the situation you're describing!

I too have a "what to do next" problem. I have a bunch of UFO's and a huge to do list but I still can't decide.Can't imagine having no lists. Congrats. You are welcome to work on mine LOL

I can't imagine finishing my to do list. As I look around my quilt space, I see at least 5 staring at me.....that takes care of my time through 2012......

I also knit, do cross stitch and jigsaw puzzles so when I'm not inspired to quilt, I take a break with another craft and then come back to quilting. I look at books, patterns and magazines for inspiration. Good luck.

Congratulations on finishing your "To do List". Mine is so long I may never finish it. Let's see, I have to sandwich a twin quilt I made for my sister's first great granddaughter. We were supposed to work on it together, but she passed away before we could start. I didn't do much quilting for a while, and it was hard to get started on that quilt, but I did finish the quilt top, just need to sandwich and quilt it, and now Marissa has had another little girl, so guess I can't make one quilt for one and not the other little girl, it wouldn't feel right. So, add another quilt to the list, as well as the two baby quilts my daughter requested for two friends who just had babies. I do have 2 tops already made, but again, need to sandwich and quilt them. See what I mean? I take one step forward and two or three back. Well, I'll never get bored this way, and it keeps me out of trouble.

I always have a problem starting my next project, not because I don't have any, just can't choose which one is next!
