I have both sizes and I bought the lighter one - it is a neon yellow green that does show the edges better. Love, love, love them.

Thanks for all the info. It is something I'll save for. Getting cut with your rotary cutter happens so fast that you don't know it happened until after the fact. Ask me how I know. I am careful as we all are but it isn't enough. That's why they call it an "accident" lol

I have both and I think they are the best things I have ever purchased to use for quilting or sewing.

I hear so many good things about this ruler. Does anyone have a problem because it's *not* marked with ruler markings? I've watched the video and understand the concept, but moving the marking ruler aside over and over seems like it would be a pain. Any thoughts?

SusanSusan, When I use my slidelock ruler, I don't take away the marked ruler, I simply lay the slidelock on top of the other one and it works just fine for me that way.
I cut a lot of strips using the slotted rulers so it is much easier for me to keep the slots in place and simply move the slidelock along as I cut. The slidelock holds both the slotted ruler and the fabric in place just fine!! |
The SlideLock goes on top of your ruler. You can cut without a ruler with it if you want to.

Until you use one or see one in person you won't understand how great it is. It works.

I read this thread last week and went to the slidelock website and ordered the 14". OMG, this thing is great! I fussy cut the March block for Jinny Beyer BOM and it never slipped once. I'm a leftie most of the time but use my right hand a lot too and the slidelock works fine either way. I'm also coordination-challenged and my ruler slips on almost every cut. Not anymore!
Highly recommend you purchase one of these. |
