PUCKER!!!!!

My machine quilting experiences have not always been smooth on the backside of my quilt, (if you know what I mean, puckers and such...) and instead of getting impatient and saying not so nice words, I've caught myself saying "OH, PUCKER!" and smiling.. It kinda makes it easier to not throw your quilt in the corner and say... The heck with this !!!

So I ask you... what do you do to ease your impatience when quilting???

: ))))

litacats 08-18-2010 12:40 AM

i often say botheration or fizzledegig

virtualbernie 08-18-2010 12:49 AM

bluckage!

pojo 08-18-2010 12:50 AM

Mine Is Pickles

LittleMo 08-18-2010 12:50 AM

A word that would get me kicked off this board

moonrise 08-18-2010 02:08 AM

Son of a ....

...

...

...

BISCUIT-EATER! ha ha I bet you thought I was going to say something else.

But every once in awhile, if something goes seriously wrong ... something that's non-fixable ... a slightly stronger word might slip out ... under my breath ... when nobody's around!

(Then I feel bad afterwards ... :-( )

Rainy Day 08-18-2010 02:10 AM

Little Mo, I say many words that would get me kicked off. luckily, I mainly quilt with GFs or on my own - no kids about.

nana pat 08-18-2010 03:05 AM

oh drat

Conniequilts 08-18-2010 03:20 AM

God bless it - my nephew says I am the only person he knows who can make that sound bad :)

Rebecca VLQ 08-18-2010 03:21 AM

Keep 'em comin' girls....I need to have some quilting swears. They're more appropriate than the other ones I know.

Polina 08-18-2010 03:53 AM

Well, I always think of something an old boss of mine taught me on my first day of work for him. He was a dentist and told me that you never say "Woops". So when I make a mistake I just smile and go on with what I am doing. Makes the mistake seem not so bad.

Same here! haha

sahm4605 08-18-2010 04:43 AM

i just use food words to swear. things like pickles, brownies, snukerdoodles, and when I need a big bad word i use supercalifragalisticiksbialidocius. (spelled phonetically) and if i get really really mad I sometimes let a bad word out. than feel horrible. I try and just use random words that pop into my head and they are mostly food related. I have little kids around and my dd is getting into the parrot stage and so i have to be real careful.

sueisallaboutquilts 08-18-2010 04:46 AM

Definitely!! Kids hear everything!! :D

grammyp 08-18-2010 04:48 AM

Mine is "oh, Pooh".

feline fanatic 08-18-2010 05:15 AM

No kids in my household and I sew alone so I let fly with the ones that would make a sailor blush.

Tinabodina 08-18-2010 05:20 AM

That's a good idea! Can't tell you what I say right now, but I will find a substitute.

Yarn or Fabric 08-18-2010 05:21 AM

Stinkers

newquilter10 08-18-2010 05:33 AM

Son of a needle, I usually make a sewing mistake.

bearisgray 08-18-2010 05:36 AM

oh, botheration!!

I like PUCKERS! Probably shouldn't use that either, within range of little kids.

Might get changed like "trucks" gets changed in little kids' talking.

Granna of 5 08-18-2010 05:38 AM

Fiddle Sticks

BRenea 08-18-2010 06:14 AM

I shall not say (or write) my favorite swear word in polite company...let's just leave it at that! :-D
I just need to let off a little steam sometimes!

Grama Lehr 08-18-2010 06:24 AM

BOULDER-DASH!

RuthysRaggs 08-18-2010 06:36 AM

Flock - as in Flying Geese
Sometimes Foofaraw - meaning a great stir or fuss over something trivial. Very aqqropriate for quilters.

Terryl 08-18-2010 06:43 AM

Mostly I say RATS, with an occassional "RATS on a ROOF TOP" thrown in. My kids and grandkids roll their eyes at me :) :) If it's a really big swear I say "OH MAN" my old bowling league used to really laugh at me. My response is that I mean exactly the same things all the other words mean.

bearisgray 08-18-2010 06:58 AM

I address this to people - or their actions - that upset me

Forget You!!!!!!

or

May your God bless you and keep you, I, however . . . . .

BellaBoo 08-18-2010 07:09 AM

I was taught that women saying d a r n was as bad as using any cuss word so now I say d a r n in front of any other word that fits the cussing situation. LOL

typing darn looks like typing dam.

Bobbinchick 08-18-2010 07:10 AM

Mine is shipoopie. Huggies, Fay

DebraK 08-18-2010 07:18 AM

Frap! Frap! Frap!

erstan947 08-18-2010 07:34 AM

I thought that was what chocolate was for. When on the verge of @!#%$##**&^$ you dive into the chocolate!

mypatookis 08-18-2010 07:42 AM

If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one around to hear it, does it still make a noise???
I, at times, can come up with a lot of interesting words  but can claim it never happened. I try to keep my bad language to times when there is no one around to document it. My dog doesn't care...
Otherwise... in my quilting group, I try to be civil and keep it to "dangit!!!" But my friends all know what I'd really like to say! :-D We all need to vent, right? If I didn't, I'd explode!

If I did that... I'd be double my size!! hehehe

Joyce 08-18-2010 07:44 AM

Some I have heard...
Oh sugar
Oh fudge
Tarnation
Fiddlestix
God love ya
God bless it
Gosh all mighty
Shoot fire
Dang it
Durn it
Holy moly
Dab nab it
Goll darn
Cheese & crackers, got all muddy
Can you tell I've been around for awhile?
I actually only say something once in a great while, then it is... Oh, poop

Lady Shivesa 08-18-2010 07:52 AM

I say Oh, poop a lot...or pooh. Either way that seems to be my most common one. The rest of them I just think in my head...>_>

xenodeno 08-18-2010 07:52 AM

Got Dandruff, cheese and crackers! or more than likely S*#&!

Barbm 08-18-2010 07:56 AM

I was just thinking about what I say and it dawned on me- it's not a word, but a sound. And then, I think- OMG- that's the sound my youngest used to make and we laughed at it because we couldn't figure out why/where it came from. It's like a "uumph" and slouch the shoulders for emphasis. Sometimes I go "grrr" too. Sorry not too lively here.

J J 08-18-2010 08:37 AM

Mine is the same as LittleMo :)
