Kind of like a "girls" clubhouse when you were a kid. But we allow guys. Even though we probably were right way back then- they probably had cooties. And where do the cooties go when suddenly they appeal to us? One of life's mysteries best left to another time.

Cyber quilt guild!! I like it! I don't belong to a guild and even if there was one in my area, I probably wouldn't join. So this forum is my guild!

I tell folks I belong to an online Quilting Board. Or that I'm a member of an on line Quilting Board.

To my DH I tell him I have to check the board. He then knows I'll be on line a WHILE.

But I consider it a group of wonderful friends with a common interest (or two or three) from around the world that if it were not for this QB I never would have had the chance to 'meet' and get to know.
(And if I don't get away from 'checking the board' I'll never get anything done today....) Could spend 24/7 here.

This is a group of kind and caring people who are willing to share their knowledge and experience. I,too, are grateful to all of you as you are my quilting friends and teachers.

champagnebubbles 05-31-2010 09:22 AM

I refer to us,you as my Quilter friends

Is it a support group- but I already belong to one to soothe my soul (lost my brother to suicide). When I think of a support group it's not really this group... I'm certainly not hurting when I'm here (except for peals of laughter and the tears from too much laughing).

And it's certainly not the support I need to keep my buying habits at bay... that's enabling and there's enough of that here- I have to be strong not to buy.

So what are we? Need a name for it- fun filled group of people sharing a common interest in quilting and all the internet has to offer lumped in one website. Can there be one word for it????

I call it "my quilting message board"

Kitsie 05-31-2010 09:38 AM

Bunch of Sew & Sews?
Like many I live rural on a fixed income and really enjoy the friendships and learning!

Joan 05-31-2010 09:43 AM

Every one of you are a regular part of my life.

I need to check in to the "Board" at least twice a day.....

Sharing.....Laughing.....Inspiring.....Uplifting.. ....Informative.....Supporting......Fun

And best of all, giving Hugs when needed!

(my Quilt Guild only meets once a month but you guys are around 24/7!)

How about "QB QT's..... or "Best Friends"

Arleners 05-31-2010 10:18 AM

This is my favorite on line quilt group. I love reading your comments.

mary 05-31-2010 11:51 AM

I agree with each and everyone of you, This is best group of friends and helpers. Thanks to all of you for the many different things I have learned from you. Since I also live in a rural area, you have inspired and taught me things that I never would have known. May God bless all of you!!!
Mary

When I refer to something I found to others I just call it "The Quilting Forum" I visit. But it looks like it already had a name Quilting Board - the Quilter's Message Board.

garysgal 05-31-2010 12:33 PM

All of the above are good. we're brought together by our love of quilting and we keep coming back because where else can you get this type of therapy for free??

marsye 05-31-2010 12:38 PM

gramquilter2 05-31-2010 04:32 PM

This was a very interesting read for both my husband and me, I really enjoy reading everyones comments but this site has really cut down on my quilting time! LOL

sylvia77 05-31-2010 04:35 PM

We are a group of people with the common love of making quilts!

tcnmom 05-31-2010 05:35 PM

I have belonged to quilt guilds but they don't hold a candle to this group of wonderful friends. Everyone is so willing to share information and websites. The websites are not always good for my credit card.:) Difficult to choose a name, as we could be called many things.

crazicorn 05-31-2010 05:51 PM

I usually refer to it as "my online quilting group"

ditto...and my DH has learned that occassionally I 'share' home stories.
It has taken some time for him to realize that although I joke about a lot of stuff, I don't really tell truly personal information.
LOL...I've got him skeered and on the run...translates to: BEHAVING!!! :twisted:

Gerbie 05-31-2010 06:07 PM

I just really (Hate) lol this site, because it is so addictive. Once I sit down at this computer to check my email , I have to go over every thread it seems and can't get away to get anything done. Maybe I'm just nosey and want to know what all is going on. I have met some fantastic folks on this site and have learned so much. There is a mountain of information that comes from this site. I have told several of my quilting friends about it, but most are not on the internet or don't use computers. Do you suppose that's why they get more quilting done than I do? I m so glad I stumbled across it. Thanks for all the help and ideas you great folks. Gerbie

Evie 05-31-2010 06:32 PM

I'm fairly new to this site and agree with all that has been said. I'm not sure I even remember how I got here, but I'm sure happy that I did. Like all of you, I often refer to the happenings on this site to my friends and family. I have learned and been inspired by lots since joining and expect there will be more to come. Thank you!

adrianlee 05-31-2010 07:00 PM

I refer to QB as my quilting friends on the internet.

wildyard 05-31-2010 07:17 PM

I call you all my quilty friends. I first heard the term here in this forum and loved it. I don't see any reason to dub you as online or offline, you are just friends. Valued and treasured!!

penski 05-31-2010 07:26 PM

i would call it friends helping friends

martha jo 05-31-2010 07:30 PM

Bettia 05-31-2010 07:53 PM

Pretty much everyone that knows me, knows that I sew and I'm making a Jane Stickle so I refer to everyone as my "Cyber friends".

I would have to agree with what everyone has said!!! I love this place; don't know how I happened upon this site but i am so glad I did. I love to chuckle with maryse (even though sometimes she makes me cry I laugh so hard), and have learned so much and been so inspired by all the beautiful works pictured. Since finding this place, it has been my favorite. Everyone here is so helpful and welcoming with open arms. I don't have any friends who quilt other than all of YOU, my QB friends!!! {{{{Hugs}}}}

After reading all the quotes I came to this result:

F = fabric-aholics
O = organisation
R = ???
U = united
M = mountains of informations

Maybe someone can fill the R gap ?

Since I joined a board I learned a lot, laughed a lot, wondered a lot, admired a lot...thanks a lot... quilt buddies

:-D

Is that a nice word or not? What was your mother's mood when she called you a huzzie?

Or makes me wonder - what were you doing? :oops:
