You can buy a kit in a box that has the socks and precut felt clothes to dress the monkey, and his felt teddy bear. I think the kit monkey is called Peejay, they also have a girl. Beverley carries it, and I think JoAnn does, too. About $9.99. I have made several, big and tiny, for grandkids from just the socks, one from the kit.

We had a shop in Sandpoint, ID that has alot of sock monkey kits and the Fabrics from Moda. She now just does quilt shows and sells on her website

I always buy the fabric from her, haven't made a sock monkey yet. Won one of hers at a show a few years back.

Three generations of boys have received sock monkeys over the years in our family, the pattern is with the Rockford socks but available in other places.
Every boy has to have one.

warning though - you might find yourself looking there for awhile lol

I am very glad I didn't see a sock moose or I would have had to make one for my 22 yo.

I always sew mine by hand and use a backstich because it gives and I haven't had a split seam.
