Been there, done that.

My goodness, I would have been having a glass of wine after the second rip out!!

Just think how much you enjoy the days when everything goes right. You wouldn't appreciate those days if you didn't have a bad day here and there.

lol.... oh my. Don't cha just hate days like that???? Thank goodness tomorrow is another day... it can only get better. ;-)

That's why I like to make continuous bias

Resewed first one ... wonky. Rip.

Second one. Sewed it wonky, took it apart, and in the process flipped it around so that I had the seam on the right side of the fabric. Wouldn't have been so bad if I had noticed it BEFORE I trimmed it and sewed on the last strip.

Third seam ... I've managed to sew the tip of the other end of the strip under the seam!!!

So, what do you think I could have possibly done wrong with the last seam? What other rookie mistake could I have made? Anyone want to guess?

I'll give you one hint ... it's a batik so there is no right side of the fabric.

Brain fart! Been there done that!!

kjdavis4 08-31-2011 06:43 PM

I feel your pain. I promised my DIL I would make 4 burp cloths for her friend who's having twins. I didn't think I would ever finish those. I hadn't used my embroidery machine in a while and had trouble with it. AFter a good 8 hours I finally put them in the mail.

I'm sorry, but it did give me a good laugh. Not because of your mistakes, but because we all have days like this.

When this happens to me, I just call it quitts. No matter how badly you want to quilt, sometimes it's just better to take a break.

Doesn't it always seems to happen, when you have the perfect time to quilt? And on other times when you have the perfect going, there is always an interruption.

Consider yourself hugged!

Congratulations! You saved all your mistakes for the easiest-to-correct part of the quilt. Smart!
