Or black and white with red all over. So many possibilities. Check out the library for baby patterns for more ideas. You are going to have FUN! |
Congratulations on your first grand child...you will now know what it's like to love an angel!!!

There is a Dino-Nite quilt pattern in Quilters World magazine that is absolutely the cutest thing ever. Its shown in browns and turquoise, but you could go anywhere with it. What a fun one it is to quilt. I just added a narrow turquoise border and it turned out super.

Congratulations. Any quilt will be greatly appreciated. There are so many neutral colors you can choose from. Have fun.

I have a grandbaby coming in May and they do know that it is a boy. They have chosen yellow and green for his room and are throwing in some blue since they know he is Carson.
I think anything you would do in pastels of any color would fit very well for a "baby look". I usually go more with the red, yellow, blue, green because they used to say the brighter colors stimulate the child's intelligence. I used them with my daughter and she graduated 3rd in her high school class and Cum Laude in college. Maybe she would have been bright anyway...but a mom/grandma can help things along where they can! I, too, just found out this week that I am going to be a Grandma (and I still have a 5 year old son at home!!!). That's what I get for having a 23, 21, 20, and 19 year old and then waiting 14 years to have my last. That was God's little joke, I think. I always wanted to have 5 children...well I guess I got what I wished for! :) I have seen many "generic" type quilt patterns that include pastel colors. Greens and yellows are good choices, too. You could make a generic quilt for the birth and then another quilt for the baby's first birthday or some other special occasion in his/her life. Just a thought. Congratulations, again! |
Congradulations!!!!
My Grandson is only 2 yrs old and I have made him 4 quilts already and my sister has made him 1. |
Oh and I forgot.......I also made my grandson a diaper bag with a tiny bag for the pacifer. It won 1st place in the NJ State fair in Sussex 2 yrs ago.

CONGRATULATIONS! There is nothing like being a grandma! When our first one was born, the doctor said we were having a boy, so I bought all the blue goodies. When SHE came there was alot of shuffling around.ha I had made a Sunbonnet Sue quilt for my first granddaughter a few years ago so we were ok. Again, congrats!

Congratulations on the pending arrival of your grandchild. I had to wait until I was 64 and my husband 75 before we were blessed with our one and only grandson. I made several quilts and told the parents that the quilts were to be well used and not stored. Ben cuddles them, lays on the floor and now has one for day care naps 2 days a week.ENJOY
