I am so sorry about your Mom. So glad you got the quilt. My Mom passed at the end of August. I got the quilt I made for her back too. I am sure you will have warm thoughts about your Mom whenever you use it.

My condolences on the loss of your mother. I have a quilt given to me by my sisters-in-law which their Mom made. I call it my healing quilt as I use it when I need some extra love. My you and your sister find joy when using the quilts you made.

So sorry for the loss of your mother. I also have 2 quilts made by my mother. One was one my dad painted the state flowers on with liquid embroidery and mom set the blocks together and tied the quilt. The other one is made with some of the last dresden plates my sister set together before she passed and Mom set the blocks together and I helped her tie it.

Don't let perfection rob you of making quilts for those you love!

What a lovely reminder of the "why" of making quilts. Aside from the beauty and the feel of the fabric, the calculations, cutting etc etc. I just simply enjoy doing it and hope someday someone will enjoy what I leave behind. I have LOTS of tops made, I think they're called "flimsies" when they aren't finished....well, I have lots of "flimsies" and they are beautiful, but I can't afford to have them quilted into useable quilts at this time, so I just make tops....and make tops.....and make tops...... and smile!!

So sorry you lost your mom at such a young age. What a wonderful keepsake you and your sister each will have with those beautiful quilts.

When my mom passed a few months ago, I was pleased that the eldest grandson wanted to have her quilts. Another generation of quilt lovers!!

Hugs and prayers to you and your family.
