I prefer rectangle quilts so at least there is a top and bottom so I know which way is up the right way.

I don't like square quilts because I'm not shaped that way and my husband is over 6 feet, so I prefer rectangular so they are longer than they are wide. Why are so many partterns made square?

Since I've never seen a square bed, I absolutely prefer rectangular. I don't know why patterns are made square, but I almost always modify them and add blocks or whatever to make them rectangular.

My sentiments exactly. Round beds, but square??? I do rectangular even if I have to modify the pattern.

I like both. I guess it really depends on what the quilt is for. In general, rectangle quilts for adults and square quilts for babies. Wallhangings? Guess it really depends on what you're making.

I've never yet made a square quilt. So I guess I prefer rectangular. They just seem more practical.
