I've been called round, or Rubinesque - but never square!
I don't like square quilts because I'm not shaped that way and my husband is over 6 feet, so I prefer rectangular so they are longer than they are wide. Why are so many partterns made square? |
Depends. Guess i'm not picky
|
I prefer Rectangle. Unless they are a wall hanging. Some wall hangings are better square but I like rectangle for actual use to curl up in.

I like rectangle better myself.

I like square ones for bundling babies in - does anyone do that anymore?
Otherwise, rectangular. I'm wide - but I'm still longer than wide. The pattern is probably square because the layout looked nice - and it would have been more of an effort to figure out something to make it longer. |
I made one king sized quilt - it was square. All the other bed quilts have been rectangular.

I like rectangle ones best. I love wrapping my feet up in the extra length.

Square quilts are ideal for queen and king sized beds, as well as for couch quilts, lap quilts, wheelchair quilts, children's play quilts, and, of course, wall quilts.
Squares are a much more balanced design shape in the opinion of many, and it's the shape of the overwhelming majority of my designs and quilts. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I'm sticking with squares. :D |
Rectangle for me
