....and most of these quilter blogs are advertisements for their website where they are selling patterns, fab, etc. So they are like ads on the radio/tv.....maybe a free pattern thrown in to make it more inticing. Speaking of radio has anyone listened to the radio program on Mondays? I always forget...is there a site to listen to the "old" ones, like on regular radio when talk shows can't get any live person to work that shift, they play "best of"

Sorry, I agree with Erstan on this one. I work in accounting and I do NOT take it into my sewing room!!

I had a crafty hobby, my DH thought it should be run as a business...3 years later I quit! Fun was gone when a balance sheet need to be made and taxes paid. Now I quilt and do it because I love it and love creating with fabrics and the joy on the face that receives my gift.

I have laughed and laughed at this thread this morning. I do not want to be accountable for any of my stash accumulation nor will I do a spread sheet or flow chart- lol. The "deposits" always out weight the "withdrawals". Matter of fact - the DH, who may I add completely supports my habit and is as I speak is making a 12x12 foot closet just off my sewing room in the garage attic, always encourages me to stop at LQS's we find!!

Minmom - I SO know what you are saying. I worked at a Viking insides a JoAnnes Fabric for about two years. I worked only part time and spent more than my salary at either the JoAnnes or st the Viking shop!!

Love the idea of it, but there is no way I would do it. Right now when DH asks how much I spend on my hobby I can honestly say 'a little here, a little there'. Gosh I don't want the actual number. Plus, if I knew exactly how much I'd have to stop shopping. lol

I remember seeing that a while back. I kept thinking " how can she afford to buy so much fabric, and how does she use it that fast?" I like slow projects. I've been depleting my stash for 5 years. I'm down to mostly 1/4-1/2 yard pieces which are great for applique-my passion.

Not for me. I'd rather spend my time sewing (or acquiring more stash-LOL) than keeping detailed records of ins and outs. The only lists I keep are of proposed and completed projects and that works fine for me.

Speaking of accountability!! I teach an 8th grade Home & Careers class which includes sewing by hand and by machine. The Assistant Principal in my building has now advised me that "all pins need to be accounted for after each class." LMAO Wondering how many of you are able to account for all your pins, every day, after every sewing project, etc?
