I remeasured and want the quilt to be 85 X 96 after quilted and bound.

my choice is the first one, just love the pattern.

Love it! I've always wanted to make one of these - just never got around to it!

Wow, so cool. The colors are wonderful!
I like both of those colors as borders. The dark one with the seashells I think I like just a little bit more. |
Marilynsue, I'm pretty sure my DD & SIL would have my head if I gave away their wedding gift! lol The piecing wasn't difficult once a member of this board suggested I paper piece the rectangular diamond block, thank goodness for her! That block is one of the reasons I am 7 yrs late getting this top finished.(I also ran an embroidery business out of my home for 10 yrs while caring for my granddaughter full time for 3 yrs of that 10.) Didn't leave much time for anything else, by 5pm I was whipped.
Barb, I talked to my long-armer and she filled me in on what I needed for size. Went to Joann Fabrics and picked up more of the purple fabric. Lucky for me the calicos were not on sale, so I was finally able to use my 50% off coupon. Bonus! Now I have plenty of all fabrics so that I can audition how I want to border the quilt. :D |
Think i'd do a thin border of the dark purple, then I'd make a 41/2 inch border of your dark blue. This is a very pretty quilt. Well done.

Hey Nettie, were you spared by the tornado that went through there? BIL lives just a few miles away in Center Point.
