Me too! I use my walking foot on all quilting, but fortunately I prefer a more modern quilt look and like straight line or wavy line quilting. I just can't seem to get the hang of FMQ.

Jeanne S. My Kona arrived today and all my batiks are cut....thank you for the tips on quilting. It should work out just fine......I'm looking forward to the finished product!

Straight Quilting for Big Star

Here is the quilting that I did for a big star which would be in the center of the Carpenter Star. I wanted the quilt/comfort to be soft and fluffy so just quilted about every four inches....yes, I did stitch in the ditch around the star (petals).

Thanks....It was fun personalizing it for the couple that was receiving it from the sewing circle. It was the first time I tried satin stitching the names and dates. As you can see I just have the computer printout on the pic. I didn't get a pic after it was finished.

LOL, I was just thinking this very thing about myself last night! (As I was using a wrench to squeeze Elmer's glue all over batting...)

How's that quote go...always give a difficult task to a lazy person, because they will figure out the easiest way to get it done... Something like that!

I did some straight line free motion quilting on a quilt echoing the blocks in a zig zag pattern. It turned out pretty cute. I liked the rustic quality of the quilting, it wasn't always straight.

Jeanne, just checking to make sure I've got this right. When you say that you stitch along the design seam, do you mean that you stitch next to the seam? Not in the ditch?
