i've got an old piece of batting up that was sprayed with basting spray. it works great for a design wall. i don't think there is any problem using basting spray. good luck.

I started out with a flannel-backed tablecloth, but it was too small and the blocks would fall off eventually. Then I tried a king sized flannel sheet which worked for a time, but you're right - the bigger the blocks, the easier they fall. Plus, every time the dog would walk by he'd knock some blocks off with his big ole waggy tail. I finally got some cheapo batting and now the blocks stick wonderfully.

Could it be the static electricity in the material or lack of?

I bought a tabelcloth at the dollar store for 1.00 adn i used the flannel back of it and it works good so far and when it quits sticking i will go buy another one . Pretty cheap design wall and it works .

Hi, it might have to do with static electricity...

I've been googling how to create static electricity and I haven't found a good answer yet. I might try rubbing some wool against the fabric to see if I can generate it.

Did maybe drying it take away some static that might have been on it in the store? Did you use dryer sheets?
