Walmart has the trays for about $8. I've seen these before and am going to make one for myself if I ever get my sewing room all pulled together. It seems like it's taking forever!

Cute Cute! I bought 3 (different sizes) small portable ironing boards at the Goodwill that fit on a table top. I figure someone else may need one and I definitely take it with me when I go to our quilt retreat and once-a-month Saturday quilting time. I have been trying to think of what to put the tiny ironing boards on so that they won't be too high for me. A TV tray may be the perfect solution! Thank you!

really, really good idea.

Am sending this one along to my quilting buddys!!!!!!!!!! |
What a coincidence! I just saw the table in a quilt shop this weekend. RV quilters were lovin' it!

Wow, what a great idea. I've heard about making ironing surfaces, but never even though about using a TV tray. Perfect size to fit right beside me. I'n on it!!!.......

Very neat idea! I keep my Iron upstairs in my room, away from my sewing area... that way I have to get off my duff and run upstairs to do the pressing of seams. Makes me feel a little bit better for using my spare time for sewing instead of excersising.
If only sewing/quilting burned calories, I would be skinny!! :) |
I like it - need to get one too! ;)

thanks for always looking out for us.

That is a great idea!!! I may have to do that also!!! Good thinking!!

Does anybody remember the advice about using aluminum foil instead of the insulbright? I can't remember if it was a good idea or if it caused the table under it to have moisture?

Yippee...I found 2 wooden tables like this today at our thrift store. I splurged and plunked down a whole $5.00 for both...now to make the table! This will let me put the ironing board back in the laundry room and gain a tiny bit of room in the sewing room. Thanks for the great idea and thanks crafty for the link!

LOVE THIS IDEA. I am so going to make one of these. I have 6 of those tv trays and I only use 2 or 3 once in a blue moon.

Really a wonderful idea! Thanks for sharing with us.

Just finished mine, I made the ironing surface to fit over the table like a fitted sheet so that I can replace or take it off and use the table for another use...
