That is a fantastic idea. I am going to be searching for a table that will fit in my room, so I don't have to keep running to the laundry room to press my seams. Hmmm - then I won't be getting my daily exercise though. . . .

Great ideas here. Read them all & now I will combine & make my version. Goodwill is a great source for the tables or garage/yard/estate/tag sales. I also buy lots of things off Craigslist locally. This would be a great fund raiser project for a Quilting or crafting guild or group too.

This is really easy to make your own - I have several. Just take an old wooden TV tray (you can get one at Walmart for about $6). Pad it with cotton batting and cover with old ironing board cover. Pull edges tight and staple with heavy-duty stapler. I use mine all the time for classes and retreats. It is also great to put small revolving cutting mat on. Then you can cut, remove mat and iron all at same place and not have to move or share cutting areas, irons.

I did the same thing about 6 or 7 years ago with one of the old old tv trays and I love it. One of my sewing things I don't feel I can live without (LOL). Can take it down any time I want and use it in small areas, use it as a cutting table, etc.

I have one of those long banquet tables and I just slipped my ironing board under it so it's always handy. If you lower it just enough it slides right under the table with the wide end sticking out.
