Ginghers

As for a favorite scissors I like the Fiskars because the spring tension is easier on my hands.
I use them all the time and especially for cutting clothes patterns but also use the rotary cutter as much as I can. I have many small scissors for thread clipping by my machines. I have the Ginghers that was my moms but really don't use it since I bought the Fiskars. |

Having smaller hands, I love my Clover 7" serrated scissors. The serrated blade holds onto the fabric, preventing slippage.

Don't cut anything but fabric/thread with your "good" shears regardless of what brand you get. |

Love my Ginghers!! Fiskars are great for some things in sewing but cutting garments I love my Ginghers. Fiskars now owns Ginghers I guess. We used Wescotts in surgery and I like the pair I have for sewing also.

I like Ginghers, I have not tried the Kia, but I think they were at lst years Houston show. My suggestion, what ever brand you buy, buy the ones with serrated edges. They grip the fabric better and if you cut multiple layers, it keeps the fabric from shifting. I love mine. I have a pair of shears and a smaller pair.

I buy the pink ones, ( don't know the name), cause I like not having to put my fingers into the grip. the only problem is that they don't stay sharp as long as I would like.

See if you can try them out. Go where you can put your thumb and fingers in the handles and see which brand are the most comfortable. I have several pairs and always go to my FISKARS USA. I have many expensive scissors but this one works for my hand. There are different fiskars, mine has a larger grip for the hand and having arthritis this works the best.
The one I have is old and is still very sharp for all the cutting I have done over the years. Suzy |
