lol!!!! |
I just have to try this: º, ¢
It does work but like someone else said, I have to use the numbers at the right end of the keyboard. Not the ones at the top. Thanks. |
Thank you I never knew that
|
Thanks
|
Learned something today. Knew the ° but never had the ¢ Ha ha.

Another symbol is the cents '¢' symbol. Simply press down the 'Alt' button with one hand, punch in the numbers 155, release the 'Alt' button and like magic the cent '¢' symbol will appear. No, you need to use the numbers pad at the right of your keyboard, not the ones up above. I hope this helps someone, it is just a little knowledge and timesaver. |

On my MacBook, I hold down the option key and press zero for degree and for the cents symbol - hold down the option key and press the dollar sign (number 4). º¢¢º

Thanks Diane - I never thought to share this info on this site ----this website has several ALT characters. Someone sent this to me. Have fun! |
Thanks for sharing information. I knew a few of these but never could find the page with a list of them on.
|
Mornin'. Thank you for those symbols. I knew how to do the degree one but not the ¢ sign. Somewhere on the internet there is a whole page of the. I printed it off years ago, and will see if I can find it later today.
Thanks again. |
Thanks. I always assumed there was a way to do it, but I bought my computer when I was 0ver 70 and have to figure things out without the basic concepts. Being 79 is challange enough!!!
|
º ¢ Thank you!!!
|
Thanks for pointing out the MacBook's codes. I also tried it with
<shift><option>number and got some different codes. I then tired it (<option> and <shift><option>) with the alphabetical keys and got more. |

For all of us Mac users, it's a little different: hold down the "Option" key while hitting the 4 (the $ sign, get it??) for cents, and the 0 for degrees. It's very intuitive, so I just guessed.
|
º ¢ Thanks for sharing, learn something every day. I just do the same things on my computer all the time, nice to pick up a few pointers!
|
The scale that I use is found here: http://www.asciitable.com/ I have XP and they work for me, so I printed it out for easy reference. Will also print out information from the other sites.

Sorry but it doesn't work for me.
|
Thanks! I didn't know that but always wished I could do it.
|
that was cool but it did not work on my computer. Why?
|
Weird. It doesn't work on the regular keyboard but if I jump to the other side and use the number pad it works fine.
Always wondered how to make the ¢ sign. Thanks a bunch. |
