oops, I didn't get my degree either..
nor the cents sign.. crud.. I bet there is a way to do the same thing on every computer if you could just find out where it is!! So, in case it makes a difference, I generally use the "*" for degrees, as in 71* here today.. and I go the more formal $.03 for cents.. I'd much rather know your trick, but alas, my laptop doesn't speak the same language. oh well..

Thank you so much, I kept bothering my daughter to make me a list of the accents , being French speaking I have to know them!. I bookmark all the references, I will print them and them explore my computer, I never dare to try before because when I first tried I removed the DOS twice. I was told not to touch the '' other keys''.

It must be because I have Vista that it doesn't work for me. Can anyone help?

The alt command didn't work on my laptop either. I went to Programs, Accessories, but can't figure out where to find the characters. I found I have a "snipping tool" though. Now that's something I don't know if I can use or not. It must know I'm a quilter. LOL

Not working for me either. I have heard of this before but it never has worked. I have Windows Vista and am on a lap top if any of that matters.
