Mornin'. Thank you for those symbols. I knew how to do the degree one but not the ¢ sign. Somewhere on the internet there is a whole page of the. I printed it off years ago, and will see if I can find it later today.

Thanks. I always assumed there was a way to do it, but I bought my computer when I was 0ver 70 and have to figure things out without the basic concepts. Being 79 is challange enough!!!

Thanks for pointing out the MacBook's codes. I also tried it with
<shift><option>number and got some different codes. I then tired it (<option> and <shift><option>) with the alphabetical keys and got more. |

For all of us Mac users, it's a little different: hold down the "Option" key while hitting the 4 (the $ sign, get it??) for cents, and the 0 for degrees. It's very intuitive, so I just guessed.
