I took a basket and made a liner for it with pockets and elastic on the sides I loved it my tools fit in the pockets and my project fit in the center. I have used tackle boxes as Make up kits, Nail supplies, great for crazy quilting. But I love my basket for to go quilting.

I've never used anything else. I have one that has clear compartments in the lid as well as a lift-out tray inside. Love it! :c)

I use a fishing lure box for bobbin storage, they are double sided.I have several brands of machines & most take a different bobbin, helps me keep my bobbins organized.
This is what I use: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Plano-Medium-Double-Sided-Organizer/16351085 |
I got a tackle box few years ago at discount store. Has a double tray on top for thread and needles with separate openings. Then another tray inside for scissors and other notions and marking tools. Thebottomofthe box is big enough for larger scissors rulers and templates. The top is see thrugh. I paid $7 for it.

Whatever you decide to shop for I'd make a list of what you want to put in it. I'd also measure the 1 or 2 largest items you want to put in it. I say this because I don't always judge space well from memory and I would do this to make sure I got it right the first time :)

I am thinking about getting a fishing tackle box to be my kit when I quilt at church on Tuesdays.
I am wondering if any of you have one, and is it worth it? Just now I have a little box with a snap on top, but whenever I want something from the bottom, I have to take out just about everything else to get to it. |
