You nipped it in the bud right away and told her what you had done. I know that is what she appreciated. It looks great already and anxious to see when it's finished.

Do this exercise and never worry about this happening again. Walk around your sewing room/ space and pick up every permanent marker you find. Now walk out of the room/space and put them as far away fromyour fabric as possibe and never let them near it again.

Wonderful to know your friend is a true friend. At a quilt retreat a quilter I didn't know was cutting her fabric on a small mat on our lay out table. She didn't notice my quilt top was underneath part of her fabric and cut the bottom corner in strips. I thought she was going to go in shock she was so distraught. I wasn't upset enough to be tearful or angry at all about the quilt top damage. It was just fabric, but I would have been very upset if she hadn't been upset about it.

Wow thank you for posting this-I keep my frixon pens in a drawer with some permanent pens I use for labels...definitely moving them!

I am absolutely paranoid about using ANY type of inky pens for marking.

You did a fine repair job, I'm sure you feel better now. The most important thing is the friendship.
