Ask a parent to assist you by writing to fabric manufacturers, on-line fabric stores, quilt magazines, Clover, Fons & Porter, etc. Tell them your story along with a few photos and request free fabric and supplies. I'm sure you will receive overstocks, second quality fabric, close-out merchandise, and free quilt magazines. I hope you have storage space because I am confident that you will receive lots of supplies. Also, send your story to local newspapers and mention that you will accept fabric donations from local guilds. Yours is a very heart warming story.

You are truly a blessing to these children. I remember my great grandmother sitting me in the middle of her feather bed, handing me a needle and thread and lots of scraps. She let me "sew" them together. I was only 4 but this memory will always be a part of my life. I believe this is where my love for fabric and sewing came into my life. All my grandmothers were quilters. Just giving those children a few minutes of your time will mean so much to them. I'm proof.

Children love to sew when given the chance and no criticism. I have taught plenty of children and it always blesses me.

Good for you!
