The pixelating and squares sounds so intriguing to me. I'm going to follow this thread. I'm making a bed topper for my grandson with his favorite roblox character. He makes you tube videos - he is just 9 and I watch the videos and they are cute. Anyway I just had the picture of the character enlarged and traced onto steam a seam 2 and am appliqué - ing it. I traced each feature and used different fabrics to make him dimensional. I sewed around each section. The character is about 18" tall. I'm going to cut it out and appliqué it to the fabric. Maybe a thin border. And simple quilting. It is not my most fun project. But I do love him. Regarding the pixelating I saw a quilt of a saxophone based on a counted cross stitch pattern. Same idea. Lots of squares corresponding to the sax and background. Son in law plays sax so that is in my plan. I'm looking forward to everyone's suggestions. Great Job Peckish .... the scrappy squares around the logo are so simply done. Yet with the logo, the whole quilt really makes quite an impact.

I love the appliqué suggestion, however if you want to create a pixelated logo, just print the logo onto graph paper. Then you can use the graph paper as your pattern and make each square however large it need to be to give you the size logo you want.

Another way is to enlarge the logo to the size you want it, and then draw your grid onto it, at whatever size you want.

You might want to Google using search words "convert image to pixel art online". Looks like youcould take a photo, upload it, and pixelate it for FREE on line.

there is a free website, www.pic2pat.com, where you can select a picture and the program will convert to a crossstitch pattern with adjustable numbers of stitches and colors. of course, the more stitches, more detail.

Look into the instructor, Janet Foggs method of doing a picture. Once you get the hang of it it's a pretty neat way of doing a picture. If you can't find info on her website, email me at:[email protected] and I will try to email you back an outline of her method.
