I am in need of some advice in regards to a quilt I am designing for one of my sons who will be graduating from High School next summer.

He has a gaming YouTube channel and designed the logo for it himself. What I was thinking, was to take the logo and somehow do a picture of it on the quilt, using 2.5-inch squares. That may be asking too much. LOL.

Is there someone who could take the picture, and kind of pixelate it so that I can graph it out? or a program that will convert the picture into a piecing chart, kind of like how they have for turning photographs into cross stitch patterns?

Any other suggestions are welcome. I would like the picture to be larger than a standard sized piece of printer paper. More to the tune of 24 inches by 36 inches, or in that ball park.

I hope that all made sense! My plan was to do a burst block arrangement on the front, and the logo on the back of the quilt. It will make the quilt two-sided, as well.

For starters, maybe you could take the logo to a printing shop that can do major enlarging?

Then get several copies made so that you can work with them and see what happens.

You could draw grid lines over the enlarged logo and then (maybe) modify the shapes into squares and triangles to resemble the logo.

The smaller the grid, the more detail can be captured.

You could also send the picture to spoonflower and they could print it any size you want. Instead of breaking it up, you could treat it as a center panel.

another way could be to copy the design from his page and paste it onto a word document. once there you could enlarge it and the pixels add on automatically past the 200 percent. just an idea.

I believe I can pixelate it in Photoshop. I'll PM you.

Without seeing the logo, I don't know if this is relevant ...
..... perhaps you might do the logo as an applique?
rather than pixelating, graphing and piecing.

Perhaps you could give us the link to your son's site, so we can see the logo?

Apparently that would be against the rules, as I have already been taken to task on that.

No idea, whether you could post the actual logo here, but I would think you could .... should be no different than posting a quilt photo. But who am I to know? ... I am sure we will both be set straight very quickly, on this, if it is not allowed

It's a husband and wife team. You can pay for the pattern after you see your pixelated image that includes fabric requirements, cutting instructions, etc.

How about a photo -multiple to achieve the size you want- and then printing it using fabric designed to go through your ink jet printer?

Here's another idea, as QuiltE said - turn the logo into applique. I did that for a friend who graduated from OSU (Oregon State). I took the image of their mascot, enlarged it, and appliqued it onto this quilt.
