I have been amazed at all the different "profile" pictures here on this Board... It's funny, part of you have pictures of yourself so I can put faces to names, part have some of the most beautiful quilts I've ever seen, and then part of you have your pets... I have just loved seeing the variety displayed even in these pictures...

My problem... I can't see the pictures well. Is there anyway to enlarge them when I am looking at them? The profile picture is what I am talking about. Some of your quilts are just totally gorgeous, and I'd love to take a closer look. Not sure if this is possible, but sure someone her could probably help. Thanks! And you all have a great day!

sueisallaboutquilts 08-30-2010 04:05 AM

I wish the same thing but I don't think there is any way.
Maybe someone else knows!!

donnajean 08-30-2010 04:26 AM

You can always ask the QB member for a better picture. I have had several requests.

cjomomma 08-30-2010 04:30 AM

I have an iPod touch so all I have to do is enlarge my screen to get a better look at the avatars.

HobbySue 08-30-2010 05:01 AM

Try holding down the Ctrl button and rolling the wheel on your mouse, it should enlarge or minimize whatever your cursor is sitting on.

Lacelady 08-30-2010 05:04 AM

Wow, that is really cool - great idea, many thanks.

donnaree59 08-30-2010 05:20 AM

THANK Y'ALL!!! Now, I'm going to look at all these pictures again!

susiequilt 08-30-2010 05:22 AM

You can also use the Ctrl button with + or - keys if you don't have a rolling wheel. Plus to increase the size and minus to take it back.

bearisgray 08-30-2010 08:48 AM

On the Mac I use, hold down the key that has the apple on it (next to the space bar) and the + key (= key) key at the same time to enlarge it. (Don't use "shift", just press the = key)

To make it smaller, press the key that has the apple on it (next to the space bar) and the - key at the same time

Ritzquilts 08-30-2010 08:58 AM

Darn, mine doesn't work. I was all excited when I read that

cbuchanan 08-30-2010 09:32 AM

You learn something every day.... never knew about this and am thrilled to learn this little tip.

plainpat 08-30-2010 09:37 AM

My MacBook enlarges the type, but not the avatars.

nwm50 08-30-2010 09:52 AM

u should have the magnifying glass button on bottom of your screen? with the 100%, etc and it will go up or down ????

This is easier than clicking on Edit, View, then increasing the viewing size, which does the same thing.

newquilter10 08-30-2010 10:32 AM

Hey thanks I did not know you could do that either.

Oh my the old saying is true....learn something new everyday. This is pretty nifty!!!!

craftybear 08-30-2010 11:01 AM

just hold down the control button and the plus button (on the row with your #'s on your keyboard) keep pressing control and plus button to make it bigger

and if you want to reduce it back just hold down the control button and the minus button

Have fun!

donnaree59 08-30-2010 11:23 AM

So I guess the picture on everyone's "profile" is called an avatar? Guess I just learned two things today from this one question I asked!!!

Mousie 08-30-2010 11:41 AM

well, since my avatar is a picture of me...
if you hold down the control button and scroll up with your middle button on your mouse, it will enlarge the entire page.
I like to do this too :XD:

Ritzquilts 08-30-2010 12:30 PM

Ok still can't make anything bigger..lol

sueisallaboutquilts 08-30-2010 03:05 PM

Wow!!! That is so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!! :D

Cathleen Colson 08-30-2010 03:15 PM

On my MacBook Pro I hold the control button down and do a 2 finger scroll on the touch pad, from bottom to top to enlarge, top to bottom to decrease.

Dina 08-30-2010 04:11 PM

Thanks, Bearisgray! I was feeling sad that I was using a Mac and the PC instructions wouldn't work for me....and then there you were! Thanks!!! Now I can enlarge also.

WOW! I never knew we could do that@! Thanks - I will use that trick ALOT!!

dotski 08-31-2010 03:47 AM

what am ii doing wrong it's not working ?

quilt3311 08-31-2010 04:00 AM

Played with this and I have to right click on the image, then click View image and then roll to get it bigger. hope that made sense.

mjsylvstr 08-31-2010 04:06 AM

I can drag the picture out to my desktop and then zoom in on it. Don't make it too large or it will get fuzzy.

I am sure that there is someone else on the board who might have a better suggestion for a clearer view..but if not, that might help some.

foxxigrani 08-31-2010 04:31 AM

I tried all the suggestions here, nothing works on my computer. Wahhhh

chance 08-31-2010 04:44 AM

Thanks for the tip. It will make my tired old eyes very happy.

buttonhead 08-31-2010 05:47 AM

This does not work for me. Anything else you know that might help. There have been numerous photos that I would like to see better.

polly13 08-31-2010 06:14 AM

Thanks, HobbySue for the computer tip. Also happy to read about thae 100% button. I need all the hints I can get about my computer as well as the quilting. Now to understand what IPod is all about. Obviously, I don't have one of those.
